Things to do in NYC

Taking my wife for a week - looking for things to do from locals or people that have been. Might train one day, but that is 2nd fiddle as this is a trip for my wife - we have 4 kiddos and don't get away enough.

Places to go? Eat? Train?

Definitely get a New York pizza and check out the standard sites if you've never seen them before.....oh and FAO Schwartz is cool....

Eats:

Tabla - 25th and Madison
Gari (sushi) - 78th and 1st (towards York)
Momofuku - 1st near 10th or 11th st
Union Square Cafe - Union Sq (16th st)
Craft - 19th street btwn park/bway
Aquavit - 55th and Madison
Oceana - 54th and Park

Ride through central park on a carriage
Wollman Ice rink for a skate (in central park)
Then go to the Central Park Zoo
Museum of Natural History (trust me) Central Park W and 79th - then go to Marot's for pastry 74th or 79th on Bway.

Broadway in the 40's - see if you can grab a matinee show
Check out 42nd street while you're there

Battery Park City
Take the Ferry to Staten Island back and forth
Empire State Building (coz everyone will ask you if you did)

And, if you know people near NYC, you should drop in unexpectedly just to say HI :wavey:

Central Park Zoo has an awesome setting but the animals look...well...shitty.

The polar bears basically have no fur, and the fur they do have is yellow.

One of the monkies was spankin' it, so they're pretty cool.

But the damn red panda was missing.

The coolest part of the zoo is the exotic birds exhibit - you walk into this jungle thing, and the birds are flyin (or trying to) all around you. It's fun to watch the little kids try to catch them.

What isssss "get a rub and tug" Alex?

:::checks with the judgesssss:::

Yes! That answer is acceptable.

so many sites to see and places to go, honestly don't know where to start. i would say google it and you'll get million responses. :D Check out Rockefeller Center, and you can see ground zero. Musuems are nice. You can just about eat anywhere. I never had a bad eating experience in NYC.

For pizza - Johns or Joes on Bleeker - If you have a car or want to take an adventure try L&B Spumoni Gardens in Brooklyn

Drink 23 beers, punch your wife in the stomach, get a hooker, and call me. I'll fly up there for a couple of days and we can see who goes to jail first. good times........just like the old days Alllllllllllll....:chomp:
