There never was a Jesus

About 3 years ago in TIME magazine they had a great article on Jesus, and were able to provide a good amount of evidence (records) that there was indeed a man named Jesus who was crucified around that time (Im not saying exactly 32-33ad, but around there). They also found records of his burial.

Truth is a revelation....no one comes to God lest the spirit draws them. You do not have the ability to decide if you will or will not believe in Jesus. It is not about believing, though you must believe to inherit...more about a divine revelation and a experience. I can assure you that Jesus is real. I speak of an exprerience which will never be at the mercy of an argument. I caution you that you are not immortal and he was, is and will always will be. You need revelation. Life is but yet a vapor....here today..gone tomorrow. Nothing that you know of in this world is eternal...behold, all things pass away.

Certainly if there has really been a Jesus and he caused the things he is supposed to have caused, Philo of Alexandria and Flavius Josephus would have mentioned him somewhere in their detailed notes of this time, which included comment on the events in the area of jesus' life.

The passage in Tacitus' "Annales" liber XV, caput 44 that describes the trial and execution of a Jesus is simply a later editing, not written until some hundreds of years later, simply a fraud.

There is no Eastern religion, in which some sacred virgin doesnt give birth to a Messiah. Not only is Christianity untrue, its also shamelessly unoriginal.

you have alot of good points... the summarian story of a phrophet named "ADDIS" his life story mirrors jesus

-virgin mother
-religious leader
-persicuted by his goverment
-crucified on a tree

for the atheists of the board. I suggest this book written by Lee Strobel
"The Case For Christ: A Journalist's Personal Investigation of the Evidence for Jesus."

??? I'm actually a Christian, but I find it rather odd that you said "a man named Jesus who was crucified...". That proof would not help us, since other historicial records show that the Catholic church renamed him "Jesus" centuries after his death in order to help convert Greeks to Christianity by making the name similiar to the Greek god "Zues". I know that statement will anger a few of the other Christians on here, but those are the facts. The name "Jesus" did not appear in any of the early Christian writings that our new testment was later translated from.

I thought it had been proved that a person named Jesus existed. I always thought the big controversy was over what he actually accomplished and that most of the bible stories were exaggerated or wrongly translated. Then there are the other religions who believe in Jesus, but just say he wasn't Christ, just a dude.
