The way Ali moved around in a ring

The 3 time champ does not make him the greatest, Holyfield is a 4 time champ and I don't consider him the greatest heavyweight ever. This will be something you can debate forever.

then stop arguing......LOL

name the "greatest" then

Tough question because noone really knows. A list: Tyson in his prime, Joe Louis, Marciano, Ali, Larry Holmes, Jack Dempsey, Lennox Lewis, Holyfield before he got old.

Dude, you obviously know nothing about boxing. Who did Tyson beat to be a top 10 all time fighter? He badly lost his legacy fights to Holyfield and Lewis. He was upset by Douglas, and recently by Danny Williams. Tyson was a front runner, who slowed down considerable after round five. I have seen all of Tyson's fights. His best wins were vs a scared to death OLD Spinks, a durable and game Ruddock(Who went to decision), Berbick (Who went to decision), and an OLD Larry Holmes.

Tyson is just outside of my top ten, mostly because he was so strong, quick, aggressive and explosive. He could steam roll many of histories greats. No one could blow out a class B fighter like a Prime Tyson could. But in the end, who did Tyson beat to be ranked in the all time top ten?

And to actually say that Ali had no power?? WTF!?!?! He Ko'd 37 of his 61 opponents. He lost 4 times. Once to Joe Frazier ( arguably one of the top 10 best fighters ever) after a 4 yr layoff and the fight went 15 rounds. Frazier was beaten to a pulp, as was Ali, and Ali went on to beat Frazier TWICE, one by KO. Once to Ken Norton, who broke his jaw in the second round and Ali finished the fucking fight! He later went on to beat Norton TWICE! Once by Leon Spinks in 1978, Ali had been fighting professionally for 18 fucking years and some say he was already suffering from Parkinsons. Spinks was like 21 yrs old. Ali beat Spinks 7 months later. 2 years later Ali tried to make a comeback by fighting, again, one of the top 10 best heavyweights ever, Larry Holmes, and was beaten. He was CLEARLY suffering form Parkinson's at this point and time and still went 11 rounds with Holmes.

To even compare Tyson to Ali is ludicrous. I think he has done enough to make it into the top 15, but not being able to win your defining fights (Lennox, Holyfield etc)? I don't think anybody on my top 10 didn't win most of his defining fights.

And not only that..

Ali was a poet:

"Clay comes out to meet Liston/And Liston starts to retreat/If he goes back any further/He'll be in a ringside seat/Clay swings with a left/And Clay swings with a right/Look at young Cassius/As he carries the fight

Liston keeps backing/But there's not enough room/It's a matter of time/Till Clay lowers the boom/Now Clay swings with a right/What a beautiful swing/And the punch knocks the Bear/Clear out of the ring

Liston's still rising/The ref wears a frown/For he can't start counting/Till Sonny comes down/Now Liston disappears from view/The crowd is getting frantic/But our radar stations pick him up/He's over the Atlantic

Who would have thought/When they came to the fight/That they'd witness the launch/Of a human satellite?/Yes, the crowd did not dream/When they laid down their money/That they would see/A total eclipse of the Sonny!/I AM

the greatest!"

and

i dun wrestled with an alligator/i dun tussled with a whale/i hancuffed lighting, thrown thunder in jail/yesterday i murdered a rock, injured a stone, hospitalized a brick/im so mean i make medicine sick

and my favorite line by him

"If Sonny Liston dreams he can beat me he better wake up and apologize."
