The value of changing it up...

So I changed gyms and to be honest I am still not in love with the new gym. I was spoiled at my last place it was like the mass hammer strength heaven with lots of great machines for delts and legs. I am going to be competing again so part of me thinks I will need to go back there for a chunk of the prep as heavy compounds I do less and less in contest prep.

Anyways they have a safety squat which I played a little with and quickly learned trying to do an extreme wide leg squat on it was a no go. So I did plie squats the old fashioned way with a dumbbell. I got to tell you my gluts have not screamed at me this much in a long time. I can feel that booty getting a real lift. LOL

I've been doing those too. Question on form:

Do you keep your concentrate on keeping your booty in or just let it poke out!

:lmao: OMGsh I love that nothing is off limits here and YES, this is a real question. I've tried it both ways and am leaning toward going slow and keeping core tight and booty very controlled and tight the whole time.

Yes I stick that ass out all the way tight tight abs back is flat slow controlled up and down. I honeslty feel like my butts been raised 2 inches like I have ledge back there the glutes are all pumped.

titular statement is so true. The impetus to adapt to novel stress is the only thing that can lead to muscle growth.

We usually think that increasing reps, weight, or both is the only way to do this, but then we wonder sometimes why Routine 9-b or whatever is no longer bringing us gains. The stress has gotta be unique. Doing something totally new is a great way to get the gains coming again.

I use two different gyms. It forces you to use things that are different. It amazes me how much of a difference it makes.
If you are at the same gym and do your routine in reverse order it makes a difference too.

I am looking at getting a 2nd gym memebership as this place doesn't give me everything I feel I need for contest prep I do a lot of odd issolation movements.

I been going back to my old gym to run out the last 4 months of my contract I love working back there some of the best hammers anyways with the change in gyms I noticed that at my old gym I am lot stronger probably cause I swtiched back to lot of old school lifts not many hammer strengths at the other gym. :)

I just tried out another gym last weekend, it felt so weird...lol
i like my regular one

Me and my husband just worked out in our garage. We have a great stack machine and DB's 5lbs-70lbs and 400lbs of olympic weights. Everything we need and then some. But I must say I am just not motivated when working out at home. I just went through the motions today. When I go to the gym I am pumped. I look forward to getting there and I put in a hard two hours. (Gave up after an hour today). I think it is the atmosphere of the gym that psychs me up.
