Djimbe said:Thats fine , but until YOU have the , well , I would use the word Temerity but lets face it , BALLS to step up and challenge your Presumptions then youre nothing but an Empty Can making a LOT of noise .
Any time that were anywhere near one another I would be happy to show you holes in all systems mentioned , as well as a few in the ones that i study of wich you are unfamiliar . All of wich are holes that could EASILY get one KILLED in a Streetfight in the right (Commonplace) situations . If you had enough in you to show to a real school and learn NOT just what makes the systems DIFFERENT , but what makes them SIMILAR , I would be HAPPY to provide you with great ones near you .
But honestly , if you cant even educate yourself byu reading a Post you CHOOSE to remain Uninformed .
The problem with this is that you think that this is the state of someone that thiks themself worthy of giving out "Advice" on a message board . If youre not Interested in Educating yourself on Martial Arts , why Post in an Online Community then ? Just simply to Whore Out the arts you study ? This is a real question and Id like an answer .
None of the systems that I study lack in either Competition OR BATTLEFIELD Application . Just because the Competitions dont make as much money as the UFC dosent mean anything . The All Chinas were around a long time b4 Zuffa , bud . And again this is Condescending . What would you know about "Theory" ? "It all SOUNDS like "Theory" Till I hit you in the face with it" - One of my Teachers to a Challenger .
Theres nothign THEORETICAL in any of my classes , mate . We do Drilling , and Shadowboxing , and Padwork and Bagwork JUST LIKE YOU DO . Oh , and guess what ? MY version of a Heabag is made of WOOD . And YES I DO hit it full stop .
AGAIN you insinuate that ALL CMA SCHOOLS ARE McDOJO !!!
I would o to ANY NON-McDojo before I went to ANY McDojo - do you see how Ignorantly Condescending you sound ? Are you CAPABLE of seeing it ? Or do you LITERALLY NEED to have someone rom a Chinese system beat you into Unconsciousness before you can see the Efficacy of them ?
Oh , and Escrima is cute inside its own Element . What do you do when you have to pick up somethign on the fly that is bigger than that ? Learning theng weapon as well as the short is best for Survival . And put an Escriador up against a Swordsman of the Nitten school and see what happens .
No , they arent opinions , on THAT you are CERTAINLY wrong . All that you have is Biased Speculation . Its funny that americans dont really know what the word Opinion means ...
You see , you can't have an Opinion on a Film till youve seen it , or on a Meal till you have tasted it .
You , sir , have never even Picked up the Fork .
Bro,
As I said before, I like variety and I like having guys who practice different styles here all sharing knowledge. But you are now going well out of your way to shove this CMA bullshit down our throats. I DO NOT WANT TO GO TAKE ANY CHINESE MARTIAL ARTS CLASSES. I have seen waaaaaaay too many McDojos making good money taking people's hard earned cash.
I have seen some of the links you have posted... I AM NOT IMPRESSED. Here... I'll post some of the stuff you have posted before:
Djimbe said:The main Idea is that Shuaijiao , especially in its less sportive incarnations , is about Accelerating the Opponent into the Earth as violently as possible , and the use of Strikes are in Conjuction with the Throws in a VERY non-Aikido way - in fact they are used together to create damage that is more than the Sum of its parts . For instance Imagine Upending your opponent so that not only do you sent his head HURTLING tward the earth , but in that same moment you execuse a perfect "Feild Goal" kick to the same head that is crashing downward ... or following the same throw with the kind of Downward Punch or Elbow strike and torquing of the waist that you see used in so many Breaking Competitions ? Of course these are just a couple opf simply explained suggestions , but you can start to see how the movements together can do more dam than they would seperately . These Clips aree very Simple ,. and not all from STRICT Shuaijiao practitioners , but many CMA stylists are Crosstrained , and Shuaijiao and Kuaijiao permeate most of the Internals Systems pretty Thouroughly .
HOWEVER , the Crosstrained apps are gong to be a bit more Simplistic than the advanced Sahuaijiao-only man , but he basic Ideas/Principles will be appearant , and most of what I have shown SHOULD be familiar to you , as SJ/KJ is a great-great-great grandfather to JJJ .

Even in Striking , the Idea is about Manipulation of the Opponents frame ...

In those clips you posted a while back I seen some bullshit McDojo cats with $$ in their eyes kick some kid on the leg.... YOU POSTED THOSE LINKS
I tell you what, you post up a link to one of your "Shuaijiao" instructors doing something in comepetition or some real life stuff and I'll go check them out. Post up a single link or video that shows something REAL about the stuff you talk about PLEASE.... If you can find a good school in the NYC area with a GOOD INSTRUCTOR I can go train with... I will. But until all I have is you word for it... well that don't mean much.
You can jump up in the air scream and yell all you want about CMA, the bottom line is that I'm not going to waste my time going to CMA classes just to learn a small variation on a choke. I much rather spend my time perfecting the ones I know.
I also don't need to learn chinese sword fighting and crap. If i ever feel like I need to carry a sword around with me then I'll move to a different neighborhood.
I'm going to go against my better judgement and actually post links to the wedsites and instructors I have in the past trained with here in NYC. I'm very protective of my identity but since I do not attend classes at these places anynore since I'm not working full-time in NYC anymore, I think it will be OK. I have found other instructors in my are where I spend my time training.
This is the Kru I was with for quite a while, one of the nicest people I have ever met:

This is another top notch instructor.

I never go to train with him, he left to the Navy before I arrived at the school but he is a product of that camp:

This in the Master I learned some of the basics of Muay Thai from. I trained under him at the Renzo Gracie academy in NYC. I had some previous Boxing and Kickboxing experience when I arrived at his door step but he opened my eyes to traditional Muay Thai.

Some videos for you to check out:
http://www.elbowko.com/vdoclip/vdo1.htm
There are a couple of clips there of Master K doing demonstrations. One is at Battery park, and NO he did not kick some kid on the leg like the McDojo guys on the video you posted.
I never wanted to talk about where i trained or who I trained with since I need to keep my identity a secret from certain assholes (not getting into it) but since, I'm not in NYC full-time anymore so I don't attend these schools and it's ok for me to post them up.
I do train MMA at another gym in NYC right now a couple of times per month. I go there mostly for the sparring since the guys are game and don't have big egos.
Please show me something.
