The Shield: Is this show any good?

I have never seen a full episode. They've been hyping this new season (premieres tonight) with interesting promos quite a bit. Forest Whitaker is cool.

my sister is glued to the shield. she loves it. she keeps asking me why i dont watch it. i just dont have the time to get hooked into a show, i work nights. id miss every freegin other episode. i can dvr it but i go to school during the day so basically its best i dont bother. but she does say its an awesome show.
