The scale vs the mirror

So I started my first cycle at 155 pounds 6 months ago. I gained 10 pounds in the first 3 weeks, up to 165, sense then the heaviest I have gotten is 170, but I dropped back to 165, I hover in between. Now my body has made DRASTIC changes in this 6 months. I know I look like a complexly different person, but I'm wondering how this is possible when my weight hasn't changed at all? Can someone help me? Pics included

First pic is start, second pic is mid way, 3rd is today.

Never go by the scale. It will lie to you and it doesn't show you changes in body composition. Judging by the pics you've obviously put on a very respectable amount of muscle and dropped a decent amount of fat....AND you are 10 lbs heavier. That is a lot more significant than you are giving yourself credit for. Awesome job!

Yeah I agree with everyone else, this idea of gaining 40 lbs a year to end up dieting off 35 of them is ridiculous, even 5 lbs of lean muscle is a massive gain, I'd say this past six months has been a dramatic success for you....

Since I've been training to compete, I haven;t really checked the scale much. years ago I was more concerned on how much I gains, then i concentrated on getting down to weight. Now I just train and eat clean. Last I checked , I was right around the sa,e weight as when I started, but far more muscular and far more cut. So, there you have it.

The cheapest body composition test is a bodpod machine. I would go with that first. The tape measure second. Then you can use the mirror. The scale is irrelevant

You will find that even as you lose weight on the scale , you will look much bigger and cut in the mirror due to being fuller and more defined. I know I can go from 218 and lose 10 pounds cutting and look much bigger due to being more defined. I never go by the scale..

Scale means nothing. I never rely heavily on the scale I just use it as a base to see what's going on with my body from a weight stand point

Mirror and Bodpod are how I check my progress. And I am very happy with both.
