Let's remember that if America hadn't supported Israel so consistently, this whole disaster probably wouldn't have happened. Bin Laden and other terrorists are angry by our consistent support of Israel.

Israel has done a fine job of taking care of themselves. Do they really need our support?

I bet this war will drag on forever since terrorists can lurk anywhere. Wouldn't it just be in America's interest to leave Israel alone?

We should retaliate against Bin Laden for what happened. But long-term our best bet may just be to take away their primary reason for hating us: our support of ISRAEL.........

The fundamentalists want and believe that the Islamic faith must rule the entire world.
Israel is a speck of this. It is not "palestinians" (whatever that is) behind this.
They are islamic fundamentalists. They hate the US because we represent the ultimate infidels. We are the greatest threat to Jihad. Israel is shit to them in relation to the entire earth. In their eyes, they have already defeated the atheist Soviets. Of course the Chinese and the Hindus are next on their hit list but they must get us before they can begin at the others because we would not allow it (the reverse, however, is not true- the Chinese, Indian, etc... govt's are only too happy to sit back and watch).

And yes sal, uh moneybags, maybe we should let the Israeli's at it, they don't have the "moral" problem this country seems to have when protecting themselves. Matttheskywalker made a good reply to a post here last night regarding the situation there. I can't qoute him word for word, but it was something like "it's an eastern western thing, if Belgium was in there instead that still attack them" something like that, not word for word.

You can launch all of the personal insults and attacks you want, but the fact of the matter is that the PRIMARY instigator in these terrorists attacks is our continued support of Israel.

I'm not saying that we should not support Israel's cause, but if you don't believe that Bin Laden and his cohorts are inflamed by America's continued support of Israel, you are running from the truth.

And by the way, America has indeed given Israel much more support in the past as opposed to attempting to undertanding the Palestenian's perspective.

In the long run, because this is a unique enemy, this "war" could go on forever.

WHO KNOWS WHAT COSTS WE ARE GOING TO PAY IN THE LONG HAUL. While I do believe we should go after Bin Laden and those responsible for the attacks, we have stepped up to a task that in the long run may cost more American lives than many of us have the stomach to give-up.

WE HAVE STEPPED UP TO AN IMMEASURABLE task that will be very very difficult to win.
