The cat I had used to pee in his favorite little corner of the apt...sometime I'd see it, sometimes I wouldn't...so it was always stinky when people came over...

As far as cats go, they ARE trainable if they are the typical cat. Flaked or powdered bleach in the spot they piss will change the habit. I was in the Army with a dude that had a cat that listened. He came in and the cat was doing something he was trying to break him of. He yelled at the cat at the same time he put his stuff on the bar. He knocked a tray off the bar and it made a HUGE noise, it surprised him too. Well the cat associated the noise with the guy and the cat never ignored him again. It was funny to see a cat listen. Seriously challenge a dog if they could listen all the time as a fave pet. Cats are cool. Dogs are cooler though.
