As some of you know I have a situation where I pee frequently than normal. I got check twice ( urinalysis) and all come back to normal and the blood test is normal too.

Well I went to another dr. and got another test done both test the blood test and urinalysis.

So here's the result: ( I can't even believe I am posting this lol but here it is)

Blood count is normal
Electrolytes normal
Blood sugar normal
renal/kidney normal
Liver normal

everything is normal :) except for

Urine Analysis ( here the shocking part ) Abnormal

They found a trace of ketones the weird part is my Dr. didn't even call me.

Not sure if that's a good thing. lol Usually Dr. would call you if its bad, I guess is nothing serious at all. I dont really know what are ketones so I search it up online. I found numerous stuff one thing is eitheir I am not eating enough carbohydrate or I am not eating regularly at all. ( which is true because mainly I eat veggies but I do eat rice though) However I sometimes skip a meal..which is not good! That's my mistake I know.

It also mention about diabetes but I dont fall on that category because my blood sugar is normal and everything else.

I am glad though that everything is fine except of minor stuff. I still can't believe it though my dr didn't call me because they mention they would call no matter what. Plus I want to ask her what can I do to get it back to normal. I mean what should I eat... eat more carbs then what else..? I guess I just need to call back at monday to ask about it.

If anyone know anything about this...I would appreciate your advise !

Please set all the joke aside! Thanks!

p.s. dont move this into the medical forum because it seems like I dont get replies on there at all.

damn, sounds uncomfortable.
good luck and hopefully you will be cured :)

Thanks and I know I will..I just need a diet plan .( I am still upset though that my Dr. didn't call me to inform what should I do to get it back to normal)

I shouldn't expect to get a real help in here... oh well guess I just have to wait till monday.

thanks a lot guys! :(

ill fucken piss on you.

What's your diet like?
Are you eating?
If so, what are you eating?

What was the range?
Did it also show the acetone levels in your urine?
There is a connection to diabetes but there are additional factors that would have to support the elevated ketones as well.

Ketones is the result of excessive fatty-acid breakdown.

High protein, low carb diets with do this as will starvation diets.

I normally just eat veggies , fish, chicken and lean ground beef most of the time..sometimes rice ( I believe that's the reason why). I need more carb on my diet... I guess I am not eating much and drinking.

It only show ketones in my urine nothing else. Everything else is normal. Glucose, BP, kidney etc.

If it's something serious I bet my Dr would call me. I still can't believe it though she didn't call me just to inform about what should I do to get it back to normal or explian what ketones are.

Any diet advise would really be appreciated or that I have to wait for monday.

I wouldn't worry about it.
Look up ketogenic diets - it will make things make sense.

Need non fibrous carbs - eat oatmeal, yams/sweet taters

Non fibrous carbs? I though I need to eat more carbs.......?

Carbs are either fibrous or complex (ok simple too - but you don't need to eat those - think sugar, candy)

I'm too lazy to explain right now - here's a good article.

basically I need to eat good carbs such rice, veggies, yams, asparagus, oatmeal etc. How about my protein intake..should I lower that ?

Fibrous Carbs

Bell Pepers (Green or Red)
Brussels Sprouts
Cauliflower
Cabbage
Celery
Cucumber
Carrots
Eggplant
Onions
Pumpkin
Garlic
Tomatoes
Zucchini

weird so I can't eat veggies...? what?

No, that's not what I said.

You said you eat veggies - I said if want add NON fibrous carbs (ie you're eating fibrous carbs already) so you would be ADDING complex carbs.

Which you don't have to do - it depends on your diet goals and how you feel with what you are already doing.

Is there anything that I should avoid though?

Is there anything that I should avoid though?

Personally - I would avoid wheat (bread pasta - actually pasta period) and soy but that's me a lot of people do find with it.

You have to experiement and see how you respond and feel.

If you feel good eating fibrous carbs and some rice and protein - I say don't fix what is not broken. If you lack energy and maybe have some brain fog you may want to add a small amount of complex carbs.

What do you eat for fat?

If you want you diet tweaked go on the women's forum and post up just what you are eating and what goals you have.

if you are not into comp diet then you should have a well balanced diet. If keto are detected in your diet then your basically not eating any other carbs besides veggies. Its not that you need to avoid any other foods its more of what you need to introduce into your diet that will give you the energy you need.

I honestly don't see where this will have an effect on your urine levels though.

How is your water intake?

Ketone can/do appear in the urine even under moderate carb intake if:

1 - there is a lack of physical activity
2 - lack of water
3 - insulin or heavy Ala usage

yeah i know.... I was wondering that too! If I should just eat normally but healthy! but I use to just eat moslty veggies..i think i need to eat more complex carbs like velvett said.

I believe I drink more than 8 glasses since I have this situation which is I pee more than as usual. ( I read somewhere online that I need to pee frequentlly so i can take all the toxins out) Whenever I pee I drink also ...

I definitely calling my dr out first thing in the morning ( monday).

You missed my point though....knowing that you are going to increase the carbs - keep in mind that this may NOT change the trace ketones in the urine.

Activity level actually plays as much of a role of hitting ketosis then the number of carbs you eat

I am pretty active trust me and I dont think there's no need for more activity is making me lost weight. ( I use to weight 109 now I am weight 106) Then I have other thing which is my body is taking out more water than as usual.... Thanks though! :)

foxxie dont listen to these people. they are just trying to fuck around with your health, which IMO isnt funny in the least bit.

what you need to do is put a little bit of iodine in the water and it will kill the toxins in your body, so you wont pee as much.

the reason you are peeing is because the body is trying to eliminate the toxins
