I hate ab work...I don't think anyone likes it. Well today I was training and while I was comming pretty close to failure all of these thoughts rushed into my head in about 2 seconds...it felt like 10 minutes of thought. It was like two different people were arguing in my head:

I want to give up
..i am going for 15 reps...
if I stop at 14 nobody will ever know.
I feel like i am going to puke.
Whats the difference if I stop at 14.
No I am doing 15 reps.
1 rep won't make a difference.
Yes it will.
Why push yourself its just abs.
I'm not competing against anyone...whats the big deal.
I AM COMPETING AGAINST MYSELF.

I said it out loud...i was competing against myself...I always am competing against myself.

Maybe that one rep doesnt make much of a difference physically...but mentally it meant so much to me. It wasn't about the exercise

When I am doing abs and a contest is nearing...I keep telling myself this...

Someone else is training harder than I am right now. They WANT it just a little more than I do...right now. Winning doesn't start on contest day...it starts now.

exactly man

abs are funny ...you'd be suprised when you can't do anymore or when you CAN'T DO ANYMORE

the last rep always counts!!!
Other people help but you need to push yourself since when the day is done you need to be able to say I gave it my all.
No quit ever cause there are people training just as or harder than you

I hope you don't mind if I put that in my signature for a while.

I can't remember where I heard or read this at but "It's okay to lose because you weren't strong enough or fast enough, but never get beat because you didn't want it enough."

Kingc79's signature quote ala B-Fold:

You can always be beaten because someone is stronger. NEVER be beaten because someone wanted it more...
