I recall the both of you saying "there's no way the Lakers make the playoffs this year" and one or both of you might have even guaranteed it. All they have to do is win 3 of the next ten to have a guaranteed spot in the playoffs, six of those ten are at home.

that's been the word on the sports sites/radio/tv

actually they said "if" the Lakers make it to the playoffs Kobe will most likely be MVP, but I think it will take a little more than just making the first round

A team that no one expected to even be in the playoffs, big change from last year, Kobes fabulous season and he's the main if not the only reason why the team is in the playoffs. That sounds like MVP to me.

If it's so unnescessary or abusive you think there'd be a lot of players asking for a trade, but on the contrary when there were trade rumors before the trade dead line all you heard guys saying is that they liked the team and liked playing with Kobe and hoped the rumors (that involved them) weren't true.

Remember the case never went to trial and all the rumors you hear are defense spin. You don't pay out 5 million for a case to go away when someone is accusing you of rape. He basically apologized and admitted wrongdoing in the settlement.

I stopped being a laker fan and will not be one again until he leaves.
 
I'll echo Phaded on this one. I was wrong they wouldn't make the playoffs. That said, MVP? LMAO

I would vote for Wade, Lebron, Nowitzki, Nash etc. long before Mr. Bryant. Jacking up 30 shots a game to get your average and cursing your teammates the rare time you actually give them the ball isn't MVP material. I would also strongly dispute your inference that Mr. Bryant is the only reason they're going to make the playoffs. The strong play of Odom, Parker, Mihm et. al. are the reason they're going to the postseason. They're doing all the little things while Mr. Wonderful goes out trying to win the scoring title.
 
Top 3 MVP candidates as of today

1. Steve Nash
2. Kobe Bryant
3. LeBran James

Again, Kobe's chances of winning will really be determined by how far the Lakers get in the playoffs. I really think they need to go to atleast the semi's for him to really have a shot to win over Steve Nash. My point being that Kobe has a realistic chance of winning the MVP as opposed to your stoopid asses saying "yeah right" "no way ever 'cause he sucks" etc, etc....

although nash has better numbers this season from his last.. he will not get mvp.. look at lebrons numbers.. 31.4 pts. 7.2 rebounds 6.7 assists.. i dont think someone has put up stats like that in a long ass time..

lol @ Paul Pierce being better than Kobe. Kobe would beat Pierce 10 - 1 in a one on one game. So many haters out there. Bar none, Kobe is the most talented player in basketball. He has all the skills. The only guy close is Lebron, and he isn't anywhere near Kobe's level yet. With time, Lebron might be the best ever though. An athletic freak combined with all his talent.

She meets the standard of what I would expect for a superstar pro athlete. The fact that she stuck with him after the incident shows he appears to have made a good choice. She probably could have taken him to the cleaners, probably still can at any time.

Lebron is up there too, but Kobe has waaaaaayyyyyyy better shooting skills. Besides, Lebron is on a better team especially since the Cavs have a true center.

Lebron's jumper isn't as aesthetically pleasing but last time I checked, his shooting percentage was considerably better than Mr. Bryant's. Lebron smokes Kobe's stats across the board. The ONLY category where Kobe can legitimately claim to be better than Lebron is defensively. I would also argue that Dwayne Wade is a better player than Mr. Bryant.

On a bit of a different note, Kobe is now officially the biggest bitch EVER. He doesn't even bother to show up in the second half for a game 7?He leaves his teammates out in the cold? He not only refuses to shake hands with the opposing team but encourages the same boorish poor sportsmanship from his teammates as well? Anyone that compares this petulant little punk to Michael Jordan EVER again is the biggest idiot in history.

Kobe Bryant will not be able to play with anyone else simply because selfish. If his team had a squad of 5 guys who were all 1 on 1 players then maybe he would work out, but after what he did in game 7... I wouldn't want him.

He simply let that team hang and I don't care who he does not have around him , as Charles was saying , he was simply trying to prove a point. The only point he proved is that he is a selfish jerk...

Lebron is a much more unselfish player who gets the other guys on his team in the game.

It's a given that Kobe is selfish and arrogant. Nobody is disputing that.

With that aside, when talking about strictly skills Kobe is by far the most talented player in the NBA. Being arrogant or selfish doesn't change that fact. He is the most cluctch player in the league... maybe ever.

I would also add that nobody that completely disappears on his teammates in a game 7 can EVER be labelled as 'clutch'. Pussy maybe or punk but not clutch.

Visit the OFFICIAL site of the NBA (nba.com) and then you'll see the stats for this years regular season. Like I said, Kobe is better at points/game, steals/game, kills in free throw percentage, has less turnovers, and played less minutes overall (despite playing one more game).

I don't give a crap about ratings bro. That's all formulaic junk. You're honestly telling me that Carmelo Anthony is in the same league as Kobe Bryant???????????? That right there is enough to tell me that you don't know basketball.

I didn't say Carmelo Anthony is better than Kobe, that's obviously ridiculous. I said that when they tallied up all the times the top players had the ball at the end of the game with a chance to tie or win, Kobe ranked DEAD LAST. The insinuation that he may be more clutch than anyone ever is almost as asinine as the Michael Jordan comparisons.

Once again, the fact that you're referring to this ranking list which has Carmelo Anthony as being number one over Kobe, Lebron, Shaq, Nowitzki, and all the other better players then him makes it a moot point.

How about a tally of having the ball at the end of the game with a chance to win or tie WHEN IT MATTERED? Lets see that list. There are rankings for everything, so I don't pay them much attention.

If there was a poll asking which player was feared most in terms of dominance in the NBA I bet Kobe would rank first.

lol, ok. So we should make a different poll because Kobe didn't come out on top of this one? I am not saying Carmelo is even a top 10 player dude. I'm just saying that at the end of games, with a chance to tie or win, his FG percentage was the best. Kobe's was the worst. You are the one who referred to Kobe being 'clutch'. Since being 'clutch' is not the same as being the best, I posted up evidence that he is indeed not 'clutch'. We can discuss if he's the best as well if you like :)

Also, I believe having the ball at the end of a game with a chance to win or tie would always be considered a situation 'that mattered'.

Anyway, is the guy good? Hell yeah. Top 5 in the NBA, no question. Is he overrated and overhyped? You bet.

Wade and Nowitzki over Kobe for MVP???? Are you delusional bro??? Kobe has ZERO supporting cast with maybe the exception of Lamar Odom. Wade and Nowitzki have it made. Kobe made a point by not shooting to show how crappy his team is. He shoots like 30 times a game because of guys like Smush Parker and Chris Mihm lmao.
