The Joys of Fatherhood and having an 11 year old boy...

That's so cute! I hope the weather is great for it, and that she has an awesome time. :D And you should keep up with these things hun. That way you can fill us in on details. :)

I agree. The point of this thread was to share a cute story about his son,

Do you think that was cute? I thought it was gross! Especially when he swallowed it all when I caught him. I can't believe he did that. Although I did laugh about it to myself all the way home.

Lol, yes, it was gross. But just the story in of itself was cute. The look on her face must have been priceless. I just love kids, so quirky little stuff like that gets me tickled. :)

He definitely outdid himself that time. I can't wait to see Sheila again. As "punishment" I made my son look up and write down the definitions of derelict, retard and invalid.

LOL! I hate to get off subject in ttlpkg's thread but this I have to tell you. I'll guarantee you I will have plenty of details for you because I will be the one lugging the ice chest, party favors, games, presents, etc. into the club and lugging them back out to the car and back to the house! Hey, we are just guys, right! Only good for doing the grunt work! LOL! This is a little more off subject but last night the family and I went shopping and I wound up buying a lot of man tools, you know, an air compressor, air tools, air hoses and a compound miter saw. I came home and brought those suckers in and set them up in my basement and started hooking everything up. At the present moment, I have no use for them but it's always nice to have the right tool for the job when you need it, right? I must have stayed down in the basement for two hours running the air wrench(On nothing, just liked the sound of it), the air socket, the miter saw(cutting nothing mind you). After I surfaced upstairs, my wife asked me what I had built? I said, nothing, I was just exploring the possiblilities.( kind of in a far away blissful voice) Everytime I used the air tools, the air compressor would turn on(ungodly loud). She said, "nothing!?!" "What was all that racket"! I told her the racket was music to my ears. Damn, I guess you girls can compare it to buying a new dress or pair of shoes. Really, it doesn't take much to make me happy but tools make me very happy! LOL! Anyway, I am way off subject now...back to the topic at hand!

You got that right! Quirky stuff they do, do get me to laughing. It's hard to discipline a child when they are making you laugh. Somehow I manage but I have to run to the other room and laugh out loud. My oldest daughter(9 years old) loves to burp out loud. The youngest has adopted the rite also. I constantly remind them not to do it in public but you know how that goes! We eat out an awful lot and you know it's bound to happen at the most inopportune times. Usually at the nicest restuarants. It's hard to keep from laughing though when that happens. They are so damn funny, I can't help but get sad thinking they are growing up so fast.

Lol, I know what you mean. I can't wait to have kids one day. THis summer I am going to be working at a camp with around 100 or more girls that range from age 5-12ish. I can't wait. It's going to be great. I volunteer at their after school program already. It's so rewarding.

Good for you Phatchik! 100 would be stretching me way past my limit though! Sleepovers or slumber parties my daughter loves to have with 6-10 girls. WHEW! I'm glad we only let her on her birthday do those things! Props to you and I know one day you will be an awesome mother and parent!
