The importance of the right trainer.....

This kind of belongs in this forum, as it definitely pertains to steroids....
But recently its really struck me just how important having a good trainer can be. I was a really tough sell on this subject, as everything I have done so far, I've done on my own, and I've done okay. But I realize I have totally hit the wall as far as gaining mass goes, in this last year my doses were crazy, the amounts of food obscene, and yet somehow I may have gained 5lbs of mass if I am lucky.
Then I look at some of the people my current trainer has worked with. A buddy of mine here has been working with her off and on when he has money for years....hasnt been for a while though, he has some coin now, so is back with her, and a few months later her is walking around at 275lbs.....at 5'8" for christ sakes, same height as me, and my fat ass only got to 260lbs. He is using way less steroids than I did as well....and he's still growing. I need to get to the nationals before this guy ever steps on stage again, I dont wanna face him till I've had a year or more with her.
Then there is another guy I know in town here. He was a big boy, 6'1", and started around 235lbs when he started working with her. A year and a half later, he was 288lbs, and still had abs and vascularity....He was on stage for his first show a few months later at 237lbs....thats 237lbs for his first friggin show, and if he had of brought his legs up, probably would have been 250lbs or more.
I really wish I had of gotten this through my head sooner, that I dont know half as much as I thought I did, I would have been much further along now.....
Just for laughs, here is are a few pics of my buddy that was 237lbs for his first show, after less than 2 years with her

BTW, he is the one on the right

its hard finding a trainer in your gym when your 2 times the size of them . lol. after i graduate, i might be looking for a trainer when i have some money

Unless it's word of mouth from people you trust, it's difficult to find the right trainer at your level or higher. I'm sure for someone like me (small and fat) it would'nt be as hard because I have'nt "hit the wall" yet and anything might work for me.

Good for you NS. This seems to be exactly what you need right now. I say it's perfect timing.

You are so right. I started training at 16 6'ft and 135lbs. After 16 years on my own, drug free the whole time, I got to 245 at around 12% and competed in my last tested show at 210lbs 5% or so. But too many guys are out beating the test so I said if you can't beat the join them. So I worked with my friend that trains people for shows. I did another show 8 weeks after the tested show and with only 6 weeks of primo @250mg/week and 50mg of winny EOD for 7 I came in at 217.5 and tighter than the earlier show. Now I'm working with him to bring up weak points and put the needed size on to compete in the non tested shows. Lucky for me he doesn't charge me, but I reffer people to him all the time.

I don't know how people feel about being trained online but Dante's program seems ridiculous and if you can stick to it it seems like you would have no choice but to get huge. I have tried 3 times just to do the training part of it and I can't do it. At least not right now.

most gym trainers wouldnt be worth your time or money. The funny thing is that my trainer(check my sig to see her sight), an ex top IFBB pro with all her success as a trainer(hell she even trains other pros), costs me probably less than a gym trainer.

Depending on the program you get from her, its around $200 a month, and that includes all your routines(and they are like nothing I have ever done before), diets(bulking or cutting) and your stacks designed for you as well. Since I am within driving distance, that also includes two visits with her per month, where she re-evaluates everything and makes changes.
She does train people through the internet as well, and they do just as well as the ones that get to see her in person.

That's not true. My friend that helps me is a national level BB but he works with John O'Regan who is Caprice Murray's "nutritionst". If you took a look at John in person you would be like what the F does this guy know? He doesn't even look like he could find the gym. But as my friend says he can take a look at you ant tell you exactly what you have been eating for the last few days and be dead on, the guy knows his shit!
