The importance of the right trainer.....

don't let your "mind" fuck with your head

not going to happen this time.....
Not only do I have a trainer of Laura's calibre telling me I should be looking at overall trophies(unless some freak shows up which could happen), but the guy that will be the head judge at the first show trains at my gym, and put me through the poses the other day, and he said the same thing, long as I come dialed in
So I'm not letting them get me cocky into thinking anything is a lock, but it makes me feel a whole lot better about feeling small
And realistically, a shredded 212lbs at 5'8" is anything but small, I just need to keep telling myself that

I don't know why people think you can't be trained through the net. Charles Glass sometimes keeps track of his out of town clients through pics, phone and internet. That guy Dante turns many, many, many people into mass monsters through e-mail. Knowledge is knowledge. If something doesn't work out, I could only imagine it's because one didn't follow the exact advice they were given. I would recommend online training, and besides you really can't get a better endoresment than Needsize. The guy has went from big to supersized right before our very eyes over the last few years. If he say's something is working, I wouldn't doubt him.

People build friendships on-line (look at this site!), sometimes relationships and even enemies, why not get some training advice? Great thing about the net is that it brings people together that probably never would have been able to otherwise.

exactly, I know of a lot that train people only that way, and we are talking top trainers
There are a few guys that I know of that have signed up with my trainer already from here, and I bet they report some impressive changes when its all over, provided they do what she says. I am so excited about the offseason as I know what she can do with me

I would have a hard time turning things over to a trainer. One of the things I find appealing about the sport is that I did it all myself. I guess if I felt had pro potential I'd be willing to take the risk.

But when you compete it really is a team sport. If NS' wife was not supportive of him he would either not be able to compete or not do as well. So if its a trainer, training partner, supportive spouse, or friends you do need help to get through it. In the end you still put the work in but bodybuilding is kind of a team sport.

I did have some trouble surrendering all control to her, as I have been at this a long time, and have accomlished a fair bit without any help....but that was the point of getting someone I knew had way more knowlege than me....made it easier to trust her with getting me where I need to go

I competed 5 times in the 80's during which I never had an SO; never told my parents about a contest until after and had no friends/gym buddies that had any contest experience to help me. My team was definitely a one-man show.

sometimes I think that might be easier, as there wouldnt be any foods in the house I couldnt eat, no one eating stuff in front of me that I cant touch....but I love my familly so I guess its just a part of the game...nothing like having the baby actually put food in my mouth when I am starving, and having to take it back out again
