Hello everyone!
My name is Brenda. I'm live in Alexandria, Virginia (which is 10 minutes outside of D.C.). I'm 26 years old and I'm a paralegal. I'm currently in a relationship with a really great guy. He introduced me to EF when we first started dating (almost 2 years ago!), but I was intimidated and afraid to get involve w/ bbuilding. I've always worked out, but for some reason I could not get pass the mental barriers I placed upon myself. Now I find lifting empowering. There is nothing like walking into the freeweight room, sliding some weights on a barbell and showing the "wannabes" the right way to do a squat!!! I'm sorry I'm venting.
Anyway, besides lifting, I enjoy cooking, reading, dancing, making jewelry, and living life outside of the box.

My name is Cheryl, I am 36 years old, from Indiana. I have been married for 12 years and we have 3 children. A 10 yo girl, and an almost 8 yo boy and a 5 yo boy. I have 3 dogs.... 2 little female mixes that we rescued and a 8 mo. boxer named winston.
I am a stay at home mommy, but I am a liscensed hairstylist.
I am looking to get a lot more fit and trim and learn a lot from all the awesome people on here

Did you say previously something about cookies?? Do you do that for a living or to make money also??

Jenscats, Thanks for the welcome. And No I dont' bake cookies for a living, although that would be awesome. I just really like baking and

Hey ladies.. mainly, i am just tired of being so paranoid about my body and the way i look, i am not confident, so i'm trying to build a self-esteem... my name is amanda, and i am from a small town in Iowa. I am currently going to nursing school, and i am 18 years old.... young and clueless, i know-- but thats where you come in! haha. I am really excited to do this after reading this thread. you all seem like such awesome people... so, if i can ask-- why are you guys doing this??

Hi all. My name is Aimee. I live in PA. Have three kids, no husband now and not attached to anyone.
Pretty boring really, I work full time and try to get as much excersise as a full time job and three kids will allow!

Ready4 - Why do we do this?? Well for starters, when I was 18, there was no such thing as the internet, girls didn't "lift", we "did Jane Fonda" instead. Thank God times have changed! There's so much misinformation, bad media, bad influence and a lot of common sense that just needs to channeled for fitness and here is where people who want to learn and embrace a healthy lifestyle come to give support, commiserate and learn! Personally, despite the Jane Fonda era, I still have been lifting since I was 16 and I love doing it and everything else related to fitness & healthy living!
Aimee -- anyone who manages 3 kids is NOT boring! Try living w/ a cat... now THAT'S boring...! Welcome to the boards! If we can't add thrill to your life, then no one can!

Hello, my name is Carol I just turned 44 on March the 9th. I was a Material Handler at Siemens (Sanford,FL telecommunications). They shut the place done, I am now a self-employed Housekeeper. It is not what I want to do ,but is pays the bills. I was born and raised in Milw., Wis. I lived in Columbia, S.C. for avbout 20 years. I now live in central Fl. and have been living here for 7 years with my life partner.I had a complete hysterectomy when I was 34 and have been on estrogen replacement therepy. It caused me to gain alot of weight. I stopped taking the estrogen recently and am finally starting to lose weight. I gain muscle easily, my muscles are short. I love this board so much helpful advice.
