I agree totally, and thats the thing... that I was prejudiced against in reading his arguments, however, he basically wraps it up like this... our own line of thinking is so self based, for example subject/object us/them self/other, so when it comes to machines... it is human/vs machine... insstead we can understand it as intelligence as the center piece, specifically intelligence is the driving force behind evolution and as our biological bodies -which he argues are more or less machines- merge with human created nonbiological technology.... we are developing our destiny through technology... its no longer man vs machine... but more like intelligence driving evolution through us.... the only differences were based on prejudices based on past thinking that defines humans, and humanity as strictly biological beings... the outward wrappings... I'm not sure if I"m communicating his argument correctly, Shogun, but I find it very persuasive and you know me -antediluvian- -outdated- esoteric text lover that I am, was not really a futuristic technology kind of bro, however, his shit makes sense...I think technology is a double edged sword. On one hand there are many possibilities that can aid us in communication, entertainment and convenience, etc. However, it can bite us in the ass as well. These nanomachines and supercomputers are a good example of this. This technology could lead to controlling and manipulating humans.
Anyone ever see those movies that deal with super computers with advanced or human like AI's that suddenly decides to go apeshit and wipe out humanity? It's a movie, but it's also a legitimate perspective.
However, I also find it hard to digest because, it also makes us a little to God like, so I have my own problems on discerning whether this is really the evolutionary path that he claims it is.
