Poeple have diffent goals

Indeed.

I know if I were a model I wouldn't bother working my legs because I couldn't fit into pants properly. But then again, if I were a model I doubt I'd bother working out and just stick to solid routine of ciggies and Diet Coke.

I love to squat . . .I use this every leg workout.

As for being a squatter. . thats illegal. . there are strict private property rights in this country.

This is exactly what my brother-in-law says. His workout consists of machine bench, machine row, machine laterals, and tons of curls. I try to set him straight, but what can I do? :)

As far as Im concerned any workout worth its weight in sweat is built from the squat up !!!

As far as having different goals and all that other stuff about models and what not....you don`t have to squat heavy with a squat till you puke mentality to reap the tremendous rewards that regular, good ol fashioned knee bends more commonly known as the squat will deliver. Even light, "I`m a model squats" are far better for overall fitness and muscle tone than leg extensions.......

I have a friend like that...funny thing is he is still that way ....weighs more than me...and Im fucking stronger than him.

:D

Unlike any other excercise I've ever done, nothing, and I mean nothing, comes close to making me feel totally spent like squats. I don't really know why.

I do 4 sets of 8, and follow it with 4 of 8 on the leg press. After each set, I need to lean on the cage to recover and am totally out of breath.

After the leg presses? Eh. Barely break a sweat.

I don't go all the way down due to the ass may get big.

Yeah (butt) your legs (along with other bodyparts) will get big also, so your ass will get bigger along with your bigger legs so you won`t really be bigger in the ass and your lower body will be in proportion. I think someone will look pretty silly with big muscular legs and no ass.

I totally agree, i squat ass to the floor, and with some large weights (400-455lbs for reps) and my ass just grew along in proportion to my legs

My understanding is that going beyond parallel is a mistake and can cause undue stress/etc. I'll have to look it up again in Strenght Training Anatomy but beyond parallel is a big no-no AFAIK

what is the "prison look"?

big upper body..no lower body.

LMAO!!!:FRlol: :FRlol: :FRlol:

You crack me up Winters!!!

Actually, I am after the prison look lol.

I want to look like I just got out of the muh-phukin pin, so I can scare children, old ladies, and soccer moms.

So you say I need a big upper body?? I never liked training legs. . . as long as my upper body is thick as a muh-phuka!!!

Nice! More incentive not to add legs back into my routine! :alien:

Someone else may back this up, but I understand that in order to fully develop upper body you need to work on lower body because doing so releases critical hormones needed to get beyond certain platues you hit with just upper body work.

Anyone else want to comment on this?
