Just for Smurf2....It's dry but important.
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep buddy.
He was my teacher at college in Madrid, that German accent... unforgetable... lol
It's a small world!
I don't agree with him in some aspects, it seems like if he forgets the situation of Florida or California (ruled by the most pure capitalism/ liberalism system with the same ending (or worst, we are not in bankruptcy)), but it's pretty interesting what he's saying...
Nice one Javaguru.
I see a lot of people talking about politics and economy on this site but just two have watched these videos... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Another example why free market educations yields better outcomes than government education.
what's a free market education? like a university in the united states that gets a shit-ton of federal and state funding every year, and the students that attend pay their tuition with dollars that were borrowed from government operated loan programs?? that kind of free market education???
Tru dat
Good to see you're a free thinker.

URJC is a public school, dumbass

He attended private school for primary education (according to him in another post),the most important years, dumbass.
I have taken classes in a state award winning school in CS and they teach nothing that prepares students for the job market. You can download the syllabus and lectures from MIT and look at the web development course. MIT required group development of an Amazon type web application while my award winning state school requires individual projects on outdated technologies.
In this country people feel what they know because we have a broken educational system that is far too close to the Prussian Model it's based upon. George W Bush invaded Iraq because God told him.....He attended the best schools.

all "private" schools receive public funding...they couldn't survive without it.

But they still have to compete at a disadvantage; If someone sends their child to a private school they have to pay tuition to the public school via property taxes as well as the private school tuition. Maumee Country Day School is the best private school in the region and they send 1-3 students per year to the "Ivy League," Michelle Rhee is a grad and prominent advocate for reform.
Toledo Public sends people to college and 90% of them need remedial coursework before they can take college level classes.

McDonald's doesn't have to serve you either.they have one MAJOR advantage, though...can you guess what it is???
they don't have to accept anyone that they don't want!

I attended public school my entire life. The first fight in my life was at 15 on the bus against a sociopath. He enjoyed tormenting people, probably due to adverse life experiences; He simply flicked my ear one too many days after I told him to stop and I bloodied his face. He was later ejected from the public system and accepted into a private Christian school; which he was later ejected from as well. My point, there will always be a a market where there is demand; Children get ejected from the public system.
This is a primary education issue because of the nature of the system; It's basically communism. Public schools still have to compete via a voucher style system of student aid in higher education. There is a culture in higher education that doesn't focus on critical thinking and free speech if it doesn't fall within what is politically correct but that's another thread.Interesting but not sure what your point is. It is true that out of the 50 top universities in this country only 15 are public, but they are very good schools. I've been to both private and public graduate schools and was equally challenged, those who couldn't keep up were kicked out of the program. Are you making the point that public universities have to meet a quota system. How do you feel about top private schools like Harvard, Princeton, Brown, Johns Hopkins etc., who only accept the best but a disproportionately high number are asians? Is this also discrimination. I'm sure Glen Beck would say so and I'm sure you know that he dropped out of college along with Hannity and Limbaugh. I'm guessing you agree with the ideology of these folks. By the way, I see a German flag on your avi, are you a German commenting on our education system or are you an American of German ethnicity?
not in pa, dude...in fact, in pa, if kids opt for an alternate form of education (e.g., cyberschool)? the public school system still has to pick up the tab...all of it. you're "ejected student" in pa? would have been referred to some sort of "program" for fucking assholes and the public school system from where he came would have had to pick up the entire bill...even if it was a state-operated facility.
