I learned about Wariks banning and read his email posted by dballer earlier this morning, which ironically was deleted shortly after the thread was posted. In his email, Warik expressed anger for the manner in which senior ef administrators chose to inform him of the termination of his membership status. I usually dont get involved in ef drama, but felt obligated not to let the issue of Wariks banning go quietly unnoticed.
Even though warik and I didn’t always agree and our interaction on elitefitness could hardly be classified as anything close to a 'friendship', he was a good moderator in mho and contributed valuable insight and thought provoking opinion to the chat and conversation board.
He's one of the few voices on this board that makes it worth visiting.
There seems to be an increasing trend on the boards towards banning members and consciously suppressing dialogue, which advocates a negative opinion of the benefits of platinum membership. Although private business are legally empowered to dictate the terms of service customers must adhere to to obtain the provision of goods and services, there’s a fine line between the pursuance of company profit and consciously alienating valued customers in the process. I believe by banning Warik and others, that line was crossed.
By continuing to ban popular members of elitefitness who regularly contribute rare insight not only into bodybuilding and anabolics, but also to other life areas, existing members are likely to become disillusioned with ef's restrictive administrative philosophy and reduce visitation and posting to this site. Or stop frequenting this site all together.
Last time I checked, elitefitness is directly dependant on site members to not only consume but to produce several products it claims proprietary ownership over. That fact alone underscores the importance site members have in sustaining the elitefitness enterprise, and the inherent benefit possible if senior administrators began exhibiting a renewed appreciation for both platinum and nonplatinum members alike.
George, if you want to ban me for this post, so be it.
But it would be a shame to have good members like Warik and Havoc banned and not one member stand up and protest in their defence.
I doubt you define the elitefitness lifestyle as one that promotes spineless individuals who lack the courage to support prosecuted acquaintances and friends. But that’s what your condoning by insinuating the existence of a future threat created when ef administrators repeatedly lock, move, and erase threads whose contents address the serious grievances members have of banned friends -- all under the laughable guise of 'cleaning the boards'.
So here I am, standing up for Warik and Havoc (if he's banned), asking you reinstate their membership status. If any aquantancies or friends of Warik or Havoc want to show their support, even if you didnt know them personally but enjoyed reading their contributions to the board, feel free to do it now.
