LOL at all the zealots trying to bash and suppress this movie. Wouldn't want an alternative viewpoint out there would we? Even more ironic that they are advocating stifling something in this manner when that is exactly the type of behaviour they are always decrying in the Islamic world.

Pathetic.

You could argue that true faith is having looked at all view points, especially those criticizing and denouncing your beliefs, and still believing.

Absolutely. Too bad most of the religious folk don't think that way.

It is not that I want to stiffle it but there are so many errors and out and out lies in the da vinci code that it is just crap because they say "Fact" even in the begginning of the movie I heard. So it decieves people into thinking that it is factually based when it is not. So the whole point of the movie to use false propaganda to steer people away from the only thing that will save their souls which is Christ dying for their sins.

Really. And what about the current story of Christ is 'factual'? :FRlol: :FRlol: :FRlol:

And P.S. - The Vatican issuing a directive that Christians should not see this movie is not trying to stifle it? Horseshit.

I personally thought it was a good movie, and I would certainly consider myself smarter and more well-rounded than 90% of the posters in this thread.

It's a long movie, but its almost all action packed so the viewer never gets bored. I have not read the book but I was able to piece everything together; perhaps this was due to my history channel endeavors.

Some of the events seem almost unbelievable. Tom Hanks and his photographic memory conveniently allow him to solve some of the more complex puzzles he's faced with - which is highly unlikely. Still a good movie none the less.

I'm a bit surprised to see Ron Howard and Tom Hanks making a movie that divides like this.

Persoanally, I think it is rediculous that people would let a book and a movie decide their faith. Sure it will have a short term impact...as do all well written ideas.

It's a bit different in the book, as far as the puzzles go, and there are a lot more of them. Seeing things the way he did in the movie was a much better choice for Hollywood then some dude just sitting there thinking. The latter doesn't really make for an entertaining scene.
