It wasn't bad, you do need to read the book first. Went with a friend who hadn't read the book and was totally lost. The details are in the book, not the movie.

Thanks for that info!! I was sold on seeing the book but now I think I'll opt for the book and then see the movie when it comes out on video. I like all the details!!

It was pretty good. The actress alongside Hanks is fuggin' sexy :Chef: :tuc:

No not going to see it. Why watch a movie that was spawned by Satan himself to further confuse the sheep so they will burn in hell.

It is a movie that bashes Catholocism - thought you were protestant? If so, you should be happy and singing its praises.

While the book and movie does have some catholic bashing the main "controversy" has an impact on all of christianity. Christianity is based on the fact that jesus was the son of a god, a divine being, not just a prophet who had a family.

I had read the book a long time ago and then saw the movie last night. Personally I think seeing the movie first is a better idea than reading the book. If you read the book first you'll only be disappointed by the movie. Most people who don't like the movie had read the book first and realized how much was left out. I think people will like the book even more after seeing the movie because it will put things together a lot better.

Point taken with regards to the book bashing Catholicism mainly, christianity to some point.

But to curling's post - does this mean Ron Howard is Satan? or Akiva Goldsman and Dan Brown are? Or is it some unholy trinity?

Exactly. They can catholic bash all they want but don't say that Jesus wasn't the Son of God piece of shit hollyweird. And I used to like Tom Hanks always thought opie was a dork.
