The 1972 Mr. O Posedown, pick your winner!

Serge is the most ripped of course. Sergio looks smoother than I did that time I took deca. I'd go with Arnold simply because he is the only one with the combo of raw size and cuts. Serge second, Franco third (well first actually, because he would be in the under 200lbs class in those days) and Sergio should just be ashamed. I have a tiny waist too but that doesn't mean I would get out on an Olympia stage without doing a diet, lol.

They seem "smaller" by todays standards. Except for arnald that is.

Might have to do with the fact that there was no insane dosages, hgh, igf1 and all the other peptides today. No supplements besides liver tablets and milk & egg protein powder. Todays guys are bigger because of drug advancements and higher dosages.

That is so true.

People need to remember that bodybuilding was very different during that era. Today there's either bloated belly mass monsters or more shapely guys with smaller gh guts. Back then there were guys of ALL shapes and sizes. That was the beauty of it, each body had it's own unique look. Nobody looked like a bunch of clones.

Zane never was known for mass. In his era it was either sorta ripped and big or big and bloated. Then Zane came along and introduced the word ripped. If anything he deserves credit for brining a new level of condition to the table.

Although compared to the likes of Arnold, Draper, Sergio, etc he isn't much. When he won his Mr. O titles there was ZERO competition. Ken Waller was a joke, Arnold and Lou were gone. Sergio gone. Nobody to really push him to the limit. Mentzer almost had him smoked but the bastard got cocky before the night show and ate a shit load of pastrys and other sugary shit, got bloated as all hell and lost. He robbed himself :(

But even still, only 11 men have held the Mr. Olympia title. Zane has a few of his own. That's something I will always respect, even if his look isn't my style.

Pound for pound Sergio was always bigger than Arnold. Arnold took him in '70 and everytime afterwards because he focused on building polish and refinement, whereas Sergio stuck with basic movements and mass building.

Very true. He brought the bar to a new level. Apart from Arnold and Franco's controversial wins in 80 and 81, Zane's standard was the one to which every subsequent serious contender was compared.

No shit is that what happened to him in '79? Anyway speaking of guts...:lmao: Johnny Fuller and Mike had the biggest guts of those days.
