One thing to realize is that 'dress codes' are designed to only apply to undesirables and really has nothing to do with what they are wearing.
Door Men are paid to be extremely discriminating and let in only those people that you would want in your establishment to build a certain scene of people so that people will value your club / lounge as a social status symbol.
Hots Chics / Guys with high social value - doesn't matter what they are wearing - as long as they have the presence they are in. On the other hand - you can be dressed to the T - but if you present no value - you may be left in line all night long.
