I can't believe how fast this summer flew by... anyway, Friday again... I'll be going out with S O this evening in order to make up for some mistakes I made last week and look forward to a night out with friends. Anybody else got anything planned?

In the doghouse, eh? :D

I'll be spending this evening teaching my kids to read and to practice their math. Hooked On Phonics and Hooked on Math is the shiznit!

Atleast you got some sleep, the stories I hear bout insomnia with students, patients, and even people here amaze me... I can get by on 4 hours, but it seems that some peeps I have met on campus and here get by on even less on a daily basis...

Yeah I can get by on 4 hours but im not 100%.. I love it when I get a great nights sleep and wake up feeling on top of the world.

No plans for me besides my oldest has a TKD demo show on Saturday. She is doing a cool trick in it by herself so she is all excited. I also would like to take my kids swimming one more time with me before school starts.

My favorite advertising bro... are you speaking in code? By kids do you mean consumers, and by practice their math do you mean consume you commodities? Why does it seem you are always trying to get someone HOOKED on something... lol j/k :chomp:
That's so kewl that you are spending time with the kids, I bet they hate the fact that school is starting soon. Classes start for me on the 28th and I'm so stoked...
Doghouse is where I be... for now anyway.

It's always a good sign when your kids are looking forward to performing in front of an audience... shows that they have a developing sense of autonomy and personal confidence. Feel free to take pics of you in your suit. lol

going to pittsburgh for the night tomorrow. . .just the wife and i. . .she thinks we're going "shopping" :FRlol:
I was born in McKeeseport... I was only there for a year before parents moved to midwest, anyway, i would like to visit Pittsburgh someday... I hear its pretty nice... I hope the wife hasn't built up in her head what stores she's going to walk through, and looking forward to shit she is going to try on, or envisioned jewelry that she would like to see on herself... if she has, you might be in for a rough night. lol

a going away party ; a birthday party ; and a bridal shower! Lol. busy busy
Holy shit... so you gotta make the transition from wishing one well and missing them, or atleast acting like it... to appreciating someone, and then, well I really am unfamiliar what the hell chics feel at bridal showers...
Trifecta of parties... sounds fun, but by the time that is over, you'll be grateful to have your quiet time again. Least, I would.

my daughters (8 y/o twins) have been in dance since they were 3. . .they go out of their way to spend as much time on stage as possible. . .they've both gotten parts in the high school play the last couple of years (they always have some little kid parts). . .i'm VERY proud of them. . .on the flip-side, i'm afraid that they are both uber-dramatic as a result of their endeavors. . .oh well, that's some other d00d's problem some day. :)

OH yeah! August, September and October have no room for alone time unless its during the week.

Oh well, I dearly love every single friend I have and just couldnt miss out on any important moment if I can fit it in on a weekend.

I dont do stuff during the week though. thats where I draw the line. lol. thats my alone time.

Sunday night I will hole up at my house , turn the lights off and just have a movie marathon. that will reenergize me for the work week.

I'm tired of Summer. I'm ready for autumn, football and halloween. and falling leaves and bonfires. And fall clothes!

Speaking of mid-point ... there's a concept in Industrial Psychology known as "the halo effect".

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halo_effect

The halo effect refers to a cognitive bias whereby the perception of a particular trait is influenced by the perception of the former traits in a sequence of interpretations.

Loosely translated it means "what have you done for me lately?"

As a career slacker I've mastered this concept.

So in the context of annual job appraisals, I slack the majority of the year, then a few months before appraisal time I kick butt. The boss is more likely to remember the most recent efforts when he writes the appraisal, and I come out smelling like a rose :)

Very interesting Pick, such a great concept that I was not familiar with, IPod example is so true, one small thing that may help your appraisal is if you could get him to do the smallest of favors for you... this is in accord with your overall approach, he will have to be consistent with his actions... and think well I must really like him if I'm doing this for him, and can only help your review... I am the supreme slacker at work, and its okay cause managers are a laid back mo, and an ex college professor older lady... both have caught me fucking around on EF and just gave me tiny admonishments... I just wished I had this situation the rest of my life with peeps I have to answer too.

Yard work, AM cardio on Saturday, hitting the gym on Sunday. Grocery shopping, dinner out and lunch.

Laundry and other household chores. God, my life is boring.

I'm supposed to do am cardio on sat morning

it has not worked out that way in two years though. lol

i used to be so good - oh well.

I haven't worked out in nearly 5 weeks... can't really tell in my avi, but I'm getting soft... gotta renew the motivation to not slob out and continue this time off. I agree, its hard to come back when you form the habit of thinking oh well, fuck it.
