Test E and Body Fat Frustrations!!

So I posted a thread about a month ago about a Test E cycle that I am going to run. I still didn’t begin the cycle because I am still researching as much as I can before I start a 10 wk cycle. But I was unsure about my BF% until I had my bf done at the gym today and it registered 17.6. I didn’t think that it would be this high and idk if this will affect my cycle at all as I am trying to bulk. It defiantly did frustrate me a little when I found out it was that high:worried:. I attached some pictures of myself so you guys can have a visual yourself. But is this a bad bf percentage to have? And should I reduce this before my cycle, I just don’t want to lose anymore weight because I can’t afford to as im only 171lbs. Thanks guys!

hey bro... im sorry that your having the frustrations your having but i want to help you... sometimes brutal honesty is the only thing to help... yes, this is a bad percentage to have... its not the worst i've ever seen but its definitely not good... you need to be under 15% before you even consider starting a cycle, but it most certainly can be done bro... my guess is that your diet is not the best and you maybe are not doing any sort of cardio training... i can help you in all these areas as I want you to make the progress you are wanting... you MUST get that body fat down to start a cycle and just for your health in general...

Ty bro I appreciate the help n I like the honesty I just rly didn't think I had that much fat.on me I rly didn't. My diet.could improve I guess, its.tough as I am a single father n I have.a.3 yr.old but I stopped doing cardio bc idw to lose any weight.that I can't afford to lose. I have.a very hard.time gaining.weight n 171 is the highest I have ever.been honesty. But im eager to.begin this cycle very eager. Will cardio lower my bf? Ty for all the help man its very appreciated

Cardio will definitely decrease your body fat. Keep your HR around 120-130. Keep all workouts short and intense, 30-45 minutes max. If you want to boost your metabolism a little, after workouts do 20-30 minutes of cardio: 2 minutes high intensity followed by 1 minute low intensity, alternating like that the whole time.

Take 5g L-Glutamine and 5g BCAA before and after every workout and cardio session.

Don't worry about your weight so much. The number on the scale is just a finalized number, like calories. What matters are the macros your put into your body.

1. Evaluate your diet first, everything starts with the diet.

2. No one in the gym should be training harder than you. If you see someone training hard, you train harder.

3. Concentrate on keeping your bf down, don't worry what the scale says. If your diet is SPOT ON, then you should see some gradual decrease in bf.

How often do u think cardio should be done? Every workout? I workout 3 -4 b times per week. As I have my son majority of the time. I rly do get scared to.drop weight bc I feel so skinny its crazy. Idw look any skinnier. Its super frustrating at this point it rly is..

You still have some good test levels at your age, and you could put on some good muscle naturally. If you don't do any cardio now, start with 3-4x a week for 30 minutes. Don't go overboard with it though. After your body gets used to it, and you don't see any changes, increase it to 45 minutes.

If you're working out 3-4x a week, do cardio on off days first thing in the morning before your first meal. If you're training hard you can still put on some muscle. It takes time...

I couldn't blow your pics up to get a better view but IMO your body fat % doesn't look too bad and may be lower than 17ish%. BF tests can be extremely unaccurate and vary from test to test ie the eletical impedence measurement types. Doing a cycle with a lower % of BF means there will be less conversion from test to estrogen and water retention will be lower. However, a cycle of test is also very likely to lower BF and increase muscle mass depending on how your diet is as your muscles will be in a high anabolic state and you will be burning fat at an increased rate as compared to being off cycle. I think you would have good results from your current state from a cycle of test, probably go up 15lbs and gain very little fat. Again, depends on diet and training. Also don't forget PCT is very important as when you finish your natural T production will be shut down and you will feel sub par, decreased sex drive, start to loose muscle etc. without a good PCT. Without good PCT you will soon find yourself where you started. You've probably read all that before though I imagine.

Yeah I did read all about pct after my cycle. I was extremely.upset about that.after I heard it. But thanks guys on the feedback. I did more research on bf n they say u wouldn't.b able to.c.abs at 17% but I can c mine pretty good to. They cld b better but I want to bulk. N idw lose any weight in the process with cardio. But im going to work it in

I would do a lot more reading. What were you upset about, your bf % ? Just keep your HR at 70% of your max heart rate, and you'll be fine... if you want to lose the fat. You can bulk all you want, but what's that going to do? You'll have more muscle, yes... but it's going to be covered by 20%+ body fat if you're truly "bulking" and taking in a lot more calories.

Im trying to read as much as possible bro believe me. All the info I can take in. but I was upset bc.I want sure about the test.e with a high bf like 17 that's y I was concerned it kind of threw a wrench in my plans I had no idea it was 17 I thought like 12. Most of it was on my back..

i would focus on working out more. it doesn't look like you workout very much in your pic.

what are your workouts like right now and frequency? be honest there isn't a wrong answer, don't tell me you workout 5X per week and do 15 sets per session cause i know you don't.

I have my son wed 6pm till Sunday 8am every week. I will hit the gym, Monday Tuesday Wednesday every wk. As my time is restraint with my son. Mon i do cheat tries. 4 exercises 4 sets of 8. Chest usually dumbbell flat/incline (i do rotate with free weights), cable crosses n butterfly dumbbells. Tries i do pull downs, kick outs with dumbbell, skull crushers n dips. Tuesday i do back n bis, and Wednesday i do shoulders n legs.. Everything i do is 4 sets of 8. As i am a single father my gym time is a little different from others.. But that's my routine every week n i do my best to have my fun time when i an away from my little guy

Spread it out a bit more if you can to at least 4 days a week. You can get a killer workout, hitting two body parts with high intensity in 30-40 minutes. Super set everything. Back and legs are two big body parts, and need a lot of focus for each one (for me anyway), that's why some guys will hit back only one day, and legs only another day.

I like to do: shoulders/tris, legs, chest/biceps, back/traps. There's a lot you can do to make it more efficient for yourself in the gym. Just keep it high intensity, and no longer than 1 minute rest in between sets. Change it up and try to get 10 or 12 reps with the same weight that you usually do 8 reps with. If you can't get 10 or 12, drop the weight a little and make sure you can get more.

When I have down time between sets I drag myself to the next rack, or machine and get it ready for exercises and sets to follow. Sometimes you need to sit and rest for a minute, but always keep moving.

Sorry! Getting off the original topic of discussion....

Thanks bro I appreciate all the help. I will do that. Ur only in the gym for 30-40 minuets?

have you read my 3 day split in my signature below? check that out. could be exactly what you are looking for.

the whole "i'm a single father" thing is an excuse used by a lot of guys. not sure what to tell you there except maybe steroids aren't the right thing if you are more commited to your kid than the weight room. (which is a great thing) .. if i was in your shoes i would want to spend every second with my kid, i remember those were the best times when i was young.. once they hit 13 or 14 they will want to spend as LITTLE time with you as possible lol so gotta take advantage while they are that young.

so why not just put the steroids away for a while until you free up more time

Amann I want to give you props for being a real man & wanting to spend time w/ your child.

Only 3 days in gym? No problem! Start SQUATTING ASAP! Cardio? WALKING can be done w/ the kiddo, right?

Drop & give me 20! PUSHUPS! Do lots of them - they work.

Have your son/daughter lay on your back while doing pushups for added weight, and if old enough have them count for you...include them in your lifestyle bro...my little girl likes to be a part of my training, she cracks the whip on me...she is 6 years old, 4'1" tall, and 62 pounds...solid little girl who eats daddy's protein bars in her lunch at school, and loves daddy's Rocky Road shakes...62 pounds laying on my back while doing pushups is awesome bro! As you see I am a dad too...but happily married, but I involve my daughter in my lifestyle daily! My wife works weekends when I am off work, so I bring my daughter to the gym with me on weekends and my laptop and she just chills and watches a movie, or plays Angry Birds on the computer while I train...and every once in a while comes over to me during my workout and gives me a kiss and say "pew daddy, you stink!" She loves me!

Keep it up bro...3 days a week is good enough to make strides! From one dad to another...you are a good man! Fathers stick together on here...as well as all Iron Brothers and Sisters, PM me anytime for assistance!

Cool advice!!!

I agree, look for a way to incorporate your time with your kid. I have 4 kids(all 5 and under) and it is a dfficult thing, but hey its an obstacle with a solution. I work at at hme and put the older 2 to play on the treadmill, the 3rd youngest to bring me water and my belt, and the newborn in his playpen. We make a fun time out of it listening to music and them pretending to workout.

Somtimes the workouts dont go as good as I wnat, but hey I worked out, an my kids are happy. Look for a way and you will find it!

I am still learning as all of us are and I think your BF is much lower than 17%, in my nowhere near expert opinion i would bet its around 12 or so. IMO!

Working on the..counting he can goto 15. I do lift him too I sit on the edge of the couch n do leg lifts with him as he counts for me. I tried the gym daycare once n he flipped out crying as soon as I left the room so it didn't work out to well. It sucks.being a single dad to man bc I only have Half the time with as rather then 24/7 its been this way since he was 5 months old and it took me a LONG time to adjust. If it wasn't for him I honestly dk where I would be right now. Thank you for the replies I will continue.to hit it hard when I am there..

PS- that's adorable How she eats your protein bars at school for lunch! Your blessed bro!!

What did it for me was for my contest was the old school rowing machines...the cardio style ones, if you can find them...you may.ne able to get an inexpensive one on craigslist or Play it Again Sports...used sporting equipment store. Also diet and cardio will work wonders!
