Tendonitis on long head biceps, what to do?

I had a pain on my shoulder, and went to the doctor and he said that I am having a Tendontiis on my long head biceps and I have to stop the iron for a month or two. :(

What to do to speed up recovery? It has been a month now and the pain got better through two weeks but now it is stable, it is the same pain I am getting two weeks ago, havent changed, not getting better or worse. Whenever I attempt to use my hand to push things the pain comes back. But there is no pain when I am resting my arms or not doing anything.

I have just started 2 days ago applying ice for 15 minutes every 2 hours + consuming 1000 mg of vitamin c daily, taking MSM (Organic sulphar) and ant inflammotry cream twice a day. Now there is no pain when resting my hand, when I move my hand backwards for streching it hurts. There is something I am missing?

Bench bress is what caused the pain to come. if I bench press light weight will it help?

I hope this doesent become permanent, I love weight lifting...
 
Yea take some time off and let the shit heal because if you don't it can turn into a mess and never go away. My buddy who plays football is beat up from all the years and now he has to take otc arthritis shit because his tendons and joints are so fried since he never would take time off and let them heal.
