Anyone out there used a good tooth whitener? Any opinions on crest strips? Thanks for any help.

LOL this is so wierd! I just bought the crest whitening strips, not the overnight ones the ones for 14 days. 2 a day for 30 mins. I use them back and forth from work. I have used rembrandt whitening before too. But i havta say i can honestly see results from the crest strips. I didnt think i would be able to see a difference so fast and it hasnt even been 5 days using yet. So get them if you can! I think they are on sale for 20bucks right now! so if your in NY get to a CVS and buy them!

I've used the crest white strips before...they do a decent job but they only get like the front 6 teeth which is pretty annoying. On a different thread in this forum tiger88 had a great recommendation:
Goto the store like wal-mart, buy 2 rubber mouth guards. Take them home, follow the instructions to mold to your teeth. Then you can either buy some of the Rembrandt whitening gel (which comes in plastic syringe things) or you can go on ebay and buy the 22% carbamide solution stuff Synpax was talking about. Put the gel in the mouthguards 20 mins a day 'till your teeth are white to your liking. I've been doing this for a while now and it works fuckin' perfect. I do it like 4x a week maybe once every month or two and they stay white.
Most cost effective method I've seen.

If you have 100 bux to spend (usually what dentist charge for form fitting trays) do it. look around in newspapers..always some offer for teeth whitening.
The dentsit will mold the trays for teeth and you will get in a few days. they give you a teeth whitening solution and u apply it. After it runs out use a basic OTC one like chewyrxrage said (I found the rembrant refills to be more effective then the ones the dentist gave me orginally with the mouth trays..
i do this 3 times a week (6 syrgines by rembrant with last me 2-3 months and it is about 20 dollars for the 6 syrgines) (I am used to sleeping with them in so it isnt a problem but 30 minutes is fine too... i always whiten before friday nite
(gotta get my pretty on)crest strips suck...
PLUS WHITE....The shit is cheap as hell,and within a week,you'll see a big difference.

I thought that the most permanent and effective way of teeth whitening is through several laster teeth whitening procedure??

I'm a huge fan of crest white strips....i've used them a few times and still have people commenting on how white my teeth are. 
I would say try them before u invest in the brite smile.

i use the crest premium white strips couple times a year and always get excellent results. i dont drink coffee or smoke so my teeth are always white.

I would agree but there is many cheaper and more effective options, as I outlined earlier.
Seriously people! Good stuff! Don't drop a few hundred when ya don't gotta! I mean if ya got it then drop that cash likes it hot......us kids on budget....we got our ways
Creast white strips and whatnot = $20 per 28 strips cleans 6 front teeth. $20 will get you waht I outlined earlier and all yo shit be white as hell

one shit thing aboutt the foobtall mouth peice is u can only do top at one time or bottom at one time... with dentish pro trays u can have both tops and bottoms in
also i go everyother nite with the gel in the trays... then once a week or so to touch up ...6 syringes will last me 2-3 months (after your teeth are quite white)

hmm you must have a little mouth or something tiger I can get both the mouthpeices in with little problem. Feels kinda weird and hard to swallow but gets 'er done

but get some cash togather get some form fitted ones from a detist.... dentish always have teeth whiting deals. .... "buy a reg teeth cleaning and free teeth whiting" happens all the time.... check out the trib or the sun times on sundays with all the lil mini newspapers and adds...
or just call around to di dentist and the area and see if they have the form fitting trays for a decent price..... dont pay what they say....negiaote that price... houses and cars arent the only things that u can get for cheaper then retail...

I do both mouthpieces at the same time as well. Its actually more comfortable since they hold eachother in place and I seem to drool less with both in. Im pretty damn broke right now so the form fitting trays will have to be put on hold.

I used the trays and gel from www.bleachingteeth.com. They sent the same putty stuff that dentists use to make impressions of your teeth. You heat them up, make impressions, seal them in a bag, mail them back to them, and within about two weeks you get a custom tray that's tailored to your teeth.
Use the carbamide peroxide solution they send and voila!

I tired the stripes and pastes and achieved a small improvement. At least the teeth weren't yellow or gray. (Yuck!)
Then I did the Bright White in the Dentist's chair with the blue light. Took 4 twenty minute sessions.
Very WHITE!! They calmed down a bit as I soaked the teeth is the usual coffee and red wine. Still a healthy looking white.
Also was given the teeth trays and gel for once a month touch-ups. Really works.
Cost was $600. Worth it.

My Dentis sold me a commercial grade kit by crest its 19 days twice a day it worked great...for 80$
