Bodybuilding itself I would say is very healthy. Bodybuilders exercise, eat better then 90% of the population, take better general care of themselves and are generally more confident people. However competitive bodybuilding, esp. at high levels, cannot be considered healthy. How could it with the amount of drugs being used and not just anabolic drugs. Look at guys like Don Long, Flex Wheeler, Sonny Schmidt ect. they all paid the price of the bodybuilding lifestyle.
Personally, I love bodybuilding and a used to be a national competitor but I still cannot go so far as to say it is a healthy sport.
