Tattoos and jobs

I don't mind tats...have tats myself.

However, I do cover mine when at work.

balee dat

you're self-employed so you literally can do whatever-the-fuck you want...and yet, you cover'em up because you're aware that you're judged poorly for it...right or wrong, it's reality.

no...not at all...i'm just imparting reality on you...like woodpile said...prospective employers put you in a different box if you have tattoos...everyone knows that...so, if you get yourself a bunch of tattos, there is a chance that you will have difficulty obtaining a job where you can fully realize your potential...and, armed with that reality, if you still choose to get a bunch of tattoos...that's too bad.

maybe if you got face tats or hand tats...but if you cover them up there is no way for a prospective employer to know.

I don't think i'm judged poorly, just seen as maybe less professional.

There is nothing wrong with tattoos. If you go to an interview; or are at work ( depending where you work) cover them up..

do you own a business or are you in a management level position where you are actually in charge of hiring and firing? if not, then sorry...you're opinion (although you're entitled to it) is meaningless.

I have a state job, and a tattoo on my arm. They said it was fine, It's just a dreamcatcher. If I had anything that was questionable, or offensive and I wasn't able to cover it up, I wouldn't have been hired. If you know he can cover them up, and they offend you, just tell him to cover them up. Ask him about them, get the story behind why he got them. You could very well be his savior, maybe he was into that stuff before and hes trying to get his shit together and you gave him the chance he needed. Good for you!
