Anyone know how to get rid of a tattoo other than laser treatments?

I have heard of some stuff called "wrecking balm" but not sure if it genuinely works. I have a tatty I am not fond of anymore, and want to get it covered with something better, was pondering buying some of that stuff to see if it would fade it so I dont have to cover it with something too big.

That works great on something like an inch by 2 inches, but bigger than that would be a different story. A good doc can make the scar near invisible, and it's done with novocaine.

I've used TCA (Trichloroacetic Acid) on one of my tattoos. Its a skin pealing agent. I've done the process maybe 4 times on one tattoo and seemed to begin lightening the tat. But havent done anymore. I'd just save the money and time and go for the laser.

that is the same procedure used for scar revision. for a small tatt that should work well, bugt how many people looking to get rid of tatts are small ones.

i have three tatts. one is quite big. i wisely put them in areas that can be easily covered with short sleeves. tatts are cool but when you get older you might not want them in such visible areas, including forearms.

I have a friend that's been using wrecking balm on his tat. It does work, however, it's very expensive and it takes a looong time. Another option is getting it covered by an even bigger tattoo.

Right....other than cutting it out and lasers your not gonna get anywhere.

The best laser surgery out there I have had four times on my forearm. Each treatment cost me $250 (I got a major discount) and takes about a month to heal up from the burns. Oh yeah, and if you bust one of the blisters while it's healing be prepared to have a nice permanant scar.​

The deeper the ink the more treatments you are going to need, which will be a shitload of cash to change the color of the tattoo. Notice I said change the color because this is what it does....it does not revert back to what it was before the tattoo- you still see something either off color skin or scar tissue.

Best advice- live with it or get a cover up tattoo.

I grouped with a couple friends and am getting both arms faded for sleeves, the price for me per treatment was going to be 1k, but with the three of us together he is doing mine for 350, negotiate and remember allot of his time is setup, if he can setup once and roll for a couple hours youll save big $$$

Do not expect the first three treatments to do much at all.
My first two did nothing and you have to wait until it fully heals to obsever the results.
I would honestly say that it would take at least 10 treatments to get the tattoo faded quite a bit. From what I've seen (about 5 guys going through laser surgery) a real tattoo done in a real shop will never totally go away. Best bet is to try to lighten it for a cover up.

On thing that actually worked better than the laser surgery was going over one of my other tattoos with ink that was my close to my natural skin tone. This is much cheaper, faster, and worked better than my laser surgery. That being said, you MUST find a good artist who knows what the hell he is doing.

I have all black tatts, im about 6 weeks past my first treatment and they have all faded a great deal, i have one color one that i expect will take 5-6 treatments, the black ones based on the results of others i know and how well mine have faded should be all but gone in 3-4, granted these are old tats. There are allot of variables, the ink used the depth, your immune systems ability to flush it out and on and on...you never know till you try, my understanding is they continue to fade for as long as 6 months(your body absorbs the broken down ink), laser guy says 1 treatment every three months.....its abit like juice, allot of variables make up the outcome, with that said i know allot of people who have had them removed in a reasonable amount of treatments, and a few who needed many more.

If you cant totally get rid of it I have to agree...live with it or come up with a new cover tattoo

If you look at the photos on Wrecking Balm's own website you can see that it doesn't completely remove the tattoo. It does seem to fade the hell out of it though.

there's a topical cream you can try...what was it called. hmm. maybe you can google it. I've heard radio commercials. Its a cream and I think it works.
