Tap Test...?

I found this on another training/powerlifting type of board.

It's a small program to help you monitor how hard you're pushing your CNS. You tap the space bar for 10 seconds (you can change the time) and keep an average. If you start to tap too far below your average, then you're pushing your CNS too hard and you need to back off of the weights for a while.

Some of the guys on that board put up some big numbers, and they seem to swear by it. I thought some of you might find it interesting.

Well, for the first couple of times I tried it (I'm doing it for a full 30 seconds and doubling):

First thing this morning: 382 per minute
A few hours later: 400 per minute
1/2 hour after 25mg of ephedrine and 200mg caffeine: 428 per minute

I'm going to try it for a few days first thing in the morning and see how it averages. I'd be interested to hear how something like a heavy squat or deadlift day affects someones score over the next couple of days, if at all.

242/30 seconds

Anyone remember the Track and Field Arcade Video game? You had to press the button as fast as you can to run faster and jump over hurdles a high jump and stuff? lol This reminded me of that game. My tris are pumped!!!

275/30 seconds...pretty confident i could hit 300 =]

weeee...hit 312. Ok, im done until someone else take me out :p

312? fuck...
I'm happy to hit over 200 in 30 secs.
maath: Are you a strong guy for your size?

Does this test say anything about the quality of your CNS? Lets say you have an 80 number and the next day 79, 80, 80, 81 80,79 But someone else has a 93,92,93,92... Are they "better" than your CNS or is this SOLEY a gauge for yourself?

Do the numbers mean ANYTHING other than their previous comparisons?

Is there a graph for CNS "power" if they do mean something?

PLEASE ANSWER THE DAMN QUESTION. lol

use a shorter time interval - 10secs is too long, you get tired by then, I find 2secs good, and maybe 3.

You just ned to plot your waking pulse everyday as well as your tap test, just do 2 attempts. And then record how you feela nd how your training went.
I find when my pulse is low, so my tap is high and my training feels good and strong and I PR.
