Tanning help

I have bad acne on my back and shoulders. I have had it for 8 years and and it hasn't gotten any better. I never used gear. I also have taken every rx medicine on the market with no results including accutane as well as all over the counter shit you could imagine. I decided I am gonna give tanning a shot. Problem is I don't know anything about it like what kind of lotion to use (lotions usually give me more zits) and what type of machine to use. The place that is local to me has a website sunsettans.com I was thinking of using the cyclone although its expensive. The cyclone is the stand up machine I guess. The reason is when I sweat I get more acne on my body even when I wash it immediately after. This machine says it has a fan that blows 22 mph winds or something like that to keep you cool so you won't sweat? Is this what I should use? Theres one other more expesive bed that they offer as well. Please help me out tanning gurus. I really don;t want a dark tan or anything like that. Also will this give a realistic looking tan or is gonna make me look like the body builders in magazines that look like they're from another planet. How many times a week will I need to go? When I use to go in the sun when I was younger with no shirt the mild acne would go away in about a week of daily sun, however since then I really havent taken my shirt off outside because of my back full of acne so I have no idea how long it will take to dry it out.

What kind skin do you have? Are you pale?

If you are pale, the first time you go, do not go for longer than 8-10 minutes because it will fry you.

And I wouldn't go more than once or twice a week at first. After a while you can probably just go once every 9-10 days or so.

You gotta experiment.

I have somewhat pale skin. I am not like an albino or anything, I just don;t take my shirt off in the sun, so only my face really gets an tan and it takes like a month of being in the sun for 5 hours+ a day. Also my dads Irish and my moms Italian so that plays a part as well. Also if mystic tanning is the fake thing the spray on you obviously need to reread my post. I don;t even want a tan, I just want to dry out the zits o a regular basis. What the hell will a fake spray on tan do for me.

tanning

someone help this guy and give some input , i am curious too !!! also does fake and bake give you cancer ? i am really paranoid about that...

regards

I have been tanning in a tanning machine consistently for the last ten years. When I started I would go several times a week...now I only go about two or three times a month in a high level bed and I am able to be tan all year round. I have a natural looking tan (I don't even come close to looking the same color as a pro bb...they mostly achieve that strange color from dye, bronzers, and self-tanners...not tanning machines).

I know several people who use tanning machines to help with their acne. Two or three sessions over a period of a few days will help with the acne and you overall skin tone. Be careful about using a lotion, as most will cause your acne to get worse (don't buy the overpriced ones they wil try to sell you at the tanning salon). I have found that an anti-bacterial body lotion works best if you are concerned about acne and breakouts.

If you are pale, slowly work your way up to the full time they will allow you in a bed. Ask the employees at the tanning salon for advice on long you should go your first time and then add on a couple of minutes to that each time you go in (unless you burn, in which case drop it a couple of minutes).

Excess tanning does cause skin cancer, in a machine or in the sun. Just tan cautiously. If you over do it in the sun or in a bed, you may have a problem. Getting burned increases your chances for cancer. I find it much easier to avoid getting burned and acheiving the tan I want by using short sessions in a tanning bed rather than laying out in the sun (although combing the two in the summer, usually gives me the best tan).

For me, I look much better and my muscle definition is vastly improved when I go tanning. And a tanning bed is the easiest and quickest way of acheiving the tan I want.

^ good advice there,

If you are worried about skin cancer from tanning beds, they now offer beds that emit ZERO cancerous uv rays (not sure if they eliminate uvb or uva rays) THere are still some people that are going to tell you just being surrounded by that much electrical energy will give you cancer.... those are the same people who think cell phones give brain tumors.

do you suggest I try the stand up cyclone machine to prevrnt sweating which usually leads to more acne?
