tanning goggles?

If Im out by my pool hanging around I usually cover my eyes with something more opaque than just sunglasses, I can feel and see the sun even when my eyes are closed.

The wave length of the light that tanning beds use penetrates the skin. Do some research on tanning beds. It made me stop using them. The deep penetrating light can fuck up your eyes. If you are going to tan, at least be safe and use the goggles/sun screen.

UV light oxidises (tears up) most everything. This would include your eyes. Don't worry though, they are quite good at cataract surgery these days.

Yea man....if you're tanning, cover your eyes.
Your lids are very, very thin.

My optometrist even suggested wearing some kind of sunglasses everytime you go outside for long periods of time.
He said my wife especially because she has blue eyes which makes her's more sensitive to uv rays. Interesting Doc he is.

IF YOU DONT WEAR THEM B/C YOU DONT WANT TO GET RACOON EYES, THERE ARE SOME OUT THAT PREVENTS THAT. THEY ARE INDIVIDUAL OF EACH OTHER AND VERY SMALL. THEY FIT OVER YOUR EYELIDS PERFECTLY. ONLY LIKE 5 BUCKS. INVEST IN THEM. THEY WILL OFFER A GOOD RETURN IN SAVING YOUR EYES SOME TROUBLE.

Who doesn't like raccoon eyes?? Seriously though, I wear goggles cuz uv light penetrates through your eyelids stopping yup, on your eyes. I'd rather put up with coon eyes and save the money/time on surgery.

HANSEL

I KNOW NOONE LIKES RACOON EYES BUT REALLY, THATS NOT GOOD ENOUGH OF A REASON NOT TO WEAR THEM.

You only get one pair of eyes, it'd be a shame to fuck em up over a tan.

once you get used to wearing sun glasses, it is difficult to go outside when it's bright without them. UV will tear your eyes up, wear the goggles.

Kayne is correct-there is a small reflective eye protector available for each eyelid,i have used them, they are just big enough to fit right over the eyelid-hence...no more racoon eyes!

I bought a disposable pair for $1 when I first stated tanning a month ago. Still use them when I go, but I plan on investing in a real pair soon.

This is true, especially with light-eyed people.

They're not sunglasses, they are EYE PROTECTION!

I KNOW I'M CORRECT........I'M ONE OF THOSE WHATCHA CALLIT.......CERTIFIED PEOPLE. OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. HAD TO TAKE THE CLASSES TO GET CERTIFIED (FROM SMART TAN INC.) TO BE ABLE TO WORK AT A TANNING SALON. A FRIEND OF MINE OWNS A SALON SO I TOOK THE CERTS WITH HIM JUST TO DO IT. HAD TO LEARN ABOUT LIGHT AND SKIN AND ALL THAT GOOD STUFF.

When I was in HS I tanned w/o eye protection and now have horrible problems with light sensitivity. Now I always wear them.

does anyone actually wear these? I never have, but my eyes have been bothering me lately

Absolutely wear them. I tried not wearing them about 14 years ago as an experiment when I had dry eye syndrome. It was disaster. Hence, if the goggles protected my eyes when they were already irritated... you are definitely getting protection.
