Taking a break from lifting

this is going to be week 2. I felt I needed a break. I work 9,5 hours a day, and it isn't behind a computer screen. after work, scurrying up the strength and motivation to lift was such a chore. I figured I needed to let my nervous system rest. three weeks. that also gives me time to catch some waves and do some running.

my diet is bascially the same, minus the protein shakes. I am getting a little pudgy, but fuck it. I am going to ENJOY this break.

:fro:

dont let lifting come in the way of your happiness, take all the time off you need to be happy, dont let it be a chore, or something you MUST do...if you love to lift, then lift...if you dont, dont get stressed and stay active other ways.

Yeah when you go back into it, periodize your return to full intensity. Like 1 week 70% intensity, 1 week 80%, 1 week 90%, and then finally back to your old weights. Should get you back in the groove and provide some growth.

Be careful though. I needed a break too, and took a week off. the Monday I came back sucked big time. I tried Wednesday... sucked and then got injured. FUCK here I am 2 weeks or so later and my first day back and am starting s l o w.

The thing is, before the layoff I was redlining, doing great. At pr`s everywhere but tetering on overdoing it. so... I took a break. It was`nt/Is`nt a good experience for me this time around.

possible for me to workout before work? nope. I go to work at 430 in the morning, and although my gym is just around the corner, they don't open until 8. also, I wouldn't want to go to bed at an earlier time at that.

I already know that I will lose strength and size, and I am not worried about it. especially since I am not eating as much as I would when I DO lift.
