Yeah, the wiggly stuff goes away. Wear 'em first thing in the morning so you don't get used to it NOT happening, and you'll probably adjust faster.
I tried switching back to contacts recently... had 'em back around 1980, liked them then but my optometrist died and the kid who took over his practice talked me out of them. Said they were doing all kinds of horrible stuff to my eyes. (He couldn't fit 'em worth a damn, either.)
I figured given twenty-odd years of rest plus the new technology, it'd be a piece o' cake. Pop on the ol' reading glasses for the up close stuff, maybe, since I'm not so young any more, but wouldn't it be great to wear real sunglasses and otherwise get the damn things off my nose....
But noo-o-oo-oo. They can correct me to 20/20, but when they do that, I have to have "reading glasses" for anything closer than about eight FEET. Stick things in my eyes and still have to wear glasses 95% of the time? Screw that noise.
As much as I hate my glasses, graduated lenses ("no-line bifocals" to you young whippersnappers) are simply the best way to get it all in one package, and just forget the contacts. I count myself lucky that my glasses work as well as they do -- could be a lot worse.
