Tryn2

New member
Well like flax, and fish oils or even b12 injects ? I think food is number one but what if any are worth taking? Now just take a multi vit, b-complex and b6. I just dont want to piss it away unno..Thanks nelson and other bros !

Fish oil: Good

Flax oil: Bad

B12 injects: A waste -- no different that oral B12.

Lots of supps are good for specific needs. 90% are bullshit. I have a whole chapter of it in my book. What are you looking for?

Everytime you talk about bogus supplement you should put HMB on top of the list.

Above Myostatin?

The thing with HMB is it had some legitimate science behind. But so did Ribose and Methoxy and Colostrum and a lot of other stuff that just didn't pan out in the real world.

But Myostatin -- that was a flat out scam right from the start. They were reciting studies on REAL myostatin and then using an algae that had SOME of the same molecular structure. That's like saying octacostinol has a SIMILAR molecular structure to testosterone. Sure, but unless it's exact, it bears no resemblence. Biology just doesnt work that way.

Fish oil: Good - agreed

Agreed but flax seed is a whole different story

Completely disagree. oral B12 does not produce the same pharmacological effect as IM B12. Not even close.

We won't go there.

also Nelson, why are you saying that injectable b12 is no better than taking it in oral form? I was under the strong impression that the majority of products if injected work better than if taken orally due to the by-pass of the digestive system. could you further explain please.

B12 is a water soluable vitamin. It's absorbed quickly and excreted quickly whether it's ingested or injected. For half a million years we've absorbed B 12 orally and the process works very well. By the way, B12 is also best absorbed in the presense of the B complex, the way it appears in nature.

A daily multiple contains thousands of times the RDA of B 12. There's no way you can use all of it but they use such high amouns since it's non toxic and microscopic. But injecting it serves no pupose. MD's used to inject it in cases of severe anemia back in the 50's but I don't think any doc would find it necessary today. I think it became popular with bodybuilders because it was just something else to inject.

See, this is exactly what I'm talking about Nelson. You are once again perpetuating misinformation with false statements like the one above. The best way to replace B12 is through injections. Pills would not be absorbed any better than B12 in food unless given in fairly high doses. Pernicious anemia (PA) is treated by B12 injections. Why? Well, uncle Nellie the B12 has to be administered by injection (parenterally) because people with PA do not have IF (or an effective form of IF) and so cannot absorb vitamin B12 taken by mouth. What is "IF"? Well, uncle Nellie IF = intrinsic factor. Anemia is a blood disorder caused by a lack of vitamin B12. Patients who have this disorder do not produce the substance in the stomach that allows the body to absorb vitamin B12. This substance is called intrinsic factor (IF).

I hope this was educational for you. I really wish you would cease making false statements or I will have to keep making you look like Moron.

There was no mention of pernicious anemia and your information is innaccurate.

But thank you you for your attempted insight.
