You mean plie', not pile right ? ;)
 
I do sumos with a dumbbell -- or plie ;) -- I feel like they hit my glutes, quads and teardrop area well. I always get sore inner thighs if I do a wide stance regular squat with the bar -- toes pointed out slightly.
