Suicidal Thoughts...

New member
I am done with my current job. I completely hate it and have decided to quit. I am not going into details about it, but now I am in need of a job and the worry is starting to pile up already.

I have a bachelors in Criminal Justice and Sociology. Does anyone know a good place to work? I dont care where in the US it is, I have the capability of picking up and going anywhere right now. The only thing keeping me happy is the fact that I am on right now and ripping up the gym like a mad man.

Really though, I've gotta find some place to work. I've got enough cash saved up to last a while, but it's not so much about that as it is about job satisfaction. I'd rather not have any of the money and be happy at a decent job than be well off and unhappy.

I know all about careerbuilder, the ladders, etc but what I am asking for is opinions on what you think are the best places to work; that is, if you even have any.

I am thinking of working for the NGC in Reno, but I cant even have a parking ticket in the last 5 years and since I cant remember that far back I may not qualify for that job.

Im currently recruiting for positions in a behavioral health call center. locations: White Plains, NY and Milwaukee, WI. Starting pay is around $30,000 (not much)

interested?

I'm also hiring, but it's for a technical writer fluent in physics and/or lab experiments and writing.

Brothaaa; I've been in the mortgage business for the last few years. Last week the THIRD lender I've worked for went under. This time Chapter 11. Went from making 5 figure comission checks to zero. Such is life, SHIT HAPPENS. If you want an opinion, naming this thread "Suicidal Thoughts" is your 1st problem. Panic isn't going tp help you. Keep your head up, sounds like you have the education and there will be pleanty of doors opening for you..

Sometimes the best opportunity comes along when you're least looking for it

Yea, I know. As most people with a brief understanding of psychology also know, anyone who says they are going to commit suicide or hints toward it is only asking for help rather than seeking it as a way out. If I were to kill myself I would have done it by now. More or less, that title was used to get some attention as I have no intention of using a permanent solution to a temporary problem. I apologize for the slight deception. Thank you for the encouragement though, lol, I probably would kill myself if I were a mortgage broker; I cant stand sales.

Thank you Smurfy, but I honestly cannot live off of $15.00 per hour, otherwise I most likely would take you up on that offer.

that was me saying I am fluent in French, does that work?

?
I was referring to the thread in general.

fluent in french is great, but not for the job I have open unless you also have a phD in physics.

No love on the ladders? ?? The company they put me down with offered a SICK salary. I can't move to NC though. Not even for....$30,000

The ladders immediately filled my inbox up with so many junk offers that I had to open a new email. I thought that place was primo, but it seems like another junk job site.

Can't tell you where to work, I can tell you to stay the hell away from the east coast, in general, mid atlantic and north east in particular.

I think south/southwest is where the money and jobs are these days, added bonus of not having to worry about heating season.

Yea, I know. Unfortunately, I do not have a phD in physics. Had I not been so stupid in deciding on my majors I would have went into the medical field of chemistry. I was very good at understanding and applying law when I graduated HS so I went into Crj. What a waste.

Okay, so, you're basically a version of me. You have an undergrad degree in sociology and you speak French. You know what I did? I went to business school and got a degree with which I could actually make coin and now work in corp. finance/investments. so, I'd give some serious thought to law or business school if you want to start making bank. And now would be a great time to go since the job market kinda sucks.

And as for suicidal thoughts, I will quote one of Edith Piaf's lesser known songs,

"Jette ton chagrins dans le ruisseau et tourne lui le dos." :artist:
