well, i'm about to reach my planned cutting period. however not some kinda krazy bodybuilder type to get 1.3% BF, i just want to bring my bf back down to 7% or 8%, and give the stomach some rest (too much of forceful eating). also, the old cliché of getting cut for the summer.

i also wanted to concentrate on the cardio and do some plyometric exercises or sled dragging so i don't lose it come spring sports.

but... i'm having a hard time just thinking about it - losing the weight. i don't really want to go out and do the cardio, because i know i will loose the weight i've gained very quickly - as well as the strength.

any opinions? should i keep doing what i'm doing?

If you go about it slowly, you shouldn't lose much muscle or strength. Shoot for 1.5lbs a week to be on the safe side.

jesus, i was thinking a pound a week. i just need to drop about 2% not much. the real dilemma here is the fact that i can't really fathom right now about stopping the gains. they've been real constant over the past 3 months and i feel like they won't always be there and i have to take advantage of this

I would just cut back on the diet a little and add in the cardio and sled work. As long as you don't go too far you should keep a good bit of your gains. Just do like BOOEY said, slow and easy.

If cutting means that much to you, then just eat cleaner, less carbs and fat and up the protein to compensate. Throw in maybe 15-30 mins of cardio 5 times a week and train as usual. JMO

DAMN! I'm the exact opposite as I don't want to lose my "pack" and 7%bf.........but I HATE being skinning when I was 250! (now 190)...........we are all mental!

i agree with this.

i wouldnt do anything drastic, because your not even fat, superrice, or close to it, and summer isnt that close either.

if you wanna be cardiovascularly healthy do cardio but why cut?, im like 15%+ and im not gunna cut till wrestling season

Exactly. Cut calories slowly. starting mainly with carbs.

Ive said it once Ill say it agian. It depends on your goals. If you have a desired lean weight because of competing or sports then I wouldnt cut till you have reched your desired lean weight. It sounds to me that you know what you want to do, it sounds like you want to be lean but dont want to loose muscle. So I would do what everone else is saying and just ajust your fats and carbs up the protien increse cardio and eat clean. If you want to get really crazy through in some ephedrine or t-3. What is your ultimate goal?

ultimate goal is just to stay lean so that when vball season comes, i'm not going to be carrying an extra load in the air. also, i set and play a 5-1, so i do a fair bit of running throughout a game, so my endurance has to be pretty good (but that can be remedied very easily, just the load carrying part i'm worried about)

Ok, well since your goal is to br lean and not to reach a desired lean weight then I would go ahead and lean out. I know its hard to alow your self to loose weight when you work so hard to gain it. But think about it like this. You have worked hard at building muscle and in the prosses you gained a little fat. So sented of thinking Oh shit Im loosing weight Think Im dropping the fat to see the muscle Ive gained. Just be sure to eat alot of protien and you should preserve your mass.
