it's an abbreviation for active release technique.
ohhhhh... i had that done during a deep tissue one time... had to ice down my shoulders i was in so much pain after she "actively realeased" lol... ouch.

Chiropractor + Streching = happy back :)

i had the same thing, then i went to the chiro. he put me on a rigorous schedule. 4 times a week for the first three weeks. then 3 times a week for 2 weeks. then twice a week for 3 weeks. then 1 more visit. such a pain in the ass. at least LNI paid for it since it was from work. :D

anyways, the problem was a "thorasic subluxation" and my lower curve was 10 degrees out of whack.

stretching has not helped at all
Did you try the other part of the equation? Because one without the other... no good.

Streching out of alignment... does no good.. you're just making the problem worst... chiro + streching should provide some kind of relief for you if you haven't gone that route yet..

best wishes man... i know how it feels to be uncomfortable all day, hope you figure something out.

its constant, whenever it gets slightly stretched it hurts along the whole muscle. and there is no give in the muscle. you can role you thumb right over it.

i went to the chiropractor, but i don't have the money to go often. i am a student saving money. when i go back to school in a week ill go to physio.
thanks for the input guys i really need it. it seems i am always injured right now. i just recovered from a long injury to my L5 S1 area and now this.

thanks again guys

ahhh, ok...

I worked out a "deal" with my chiropracter... no going through insurance. I just pay $15 per visit.

Maybe talk to a few in the area to see if one will work with you... most of the time they won't mind.

Good luck bro.

My chiro told me a few specific streches. The best one I used was to stick your fists in your lwoer back jsut above your ass, and arch your back as far back as you can till you can feel the muscles loosen. Give it a shot. Also try to roll up a towel and stick it under your lower back while laying on a hard floor.

i woke up this morning feeling alot better. still some stiffness, but not nearly as much. all i did yesterday was ice it and i didn't go to work, where i have to lift stuff all day.

thanks for the input guys.
