Has anyone been diagnosed with trigger points or chronic myofascial pain and used steriods to help them inprove muscle strenght or get ride of the trigger points. I have below normal range testosterone.
I would think it would make it worse. I've noticed I get trigger points right around where I inject. Deep tissue massage is the best route if you can find a good therapist, but they are far and few.
it should be noted that only people with myofascial pain disorder are suited for t3 treatment. by t3 treatment i mean 200+ mcg/day for 3+ months. this is far more than what normal humans can tolerate without experiencing severe muscle atrophy.
A doctor cannot diagnose anyone with trigger points or myofacial pain, except if you reside in canada massage therapists in canada may diagnose. Therapists in the U.S. may not diagnose anything it is out of the scope of their practice. A doctor can only diagnose you with a simalar but constant symptoms of fibromyalgia this is where you have a score of 12 or greater on a test of 15 trigger points. Trigger points result in hypertonicities of a muscle bundle and referres pain to a different location along the same nerve pathway. So in this case they would never use steroids it would defeat the purpose of relieving the symptoms and pain sorry.
