Starting therapy today

sorry...not the pysical kind!

I'm going to see a shrink to address some of the emotional issues I have....inability to open up to people, the 1000 foot wall I have around my heart, possibly bi-polar :rolleyes: (or so my husband says), trust issues, etc.

Lady - do you have extreme ups and downs. The ups mean the mania and the down mean the depression part. Do you have them??
 
I like dressing up like a naked chicken to maximize my in session therapy. But that's just me. You might want to make a list of quesitons and goals you have for where you want to be when you are done with all the mind scrubbing.

I "explode" very easily, like I'll be folding laundry and talking to my husband in a normal manner, and they he'll say something that makes me mad and I'll EXPLODE at him for really no reason...

Sounds like Passive-Aggressive behavior to me...therapy will help a great deal.
 
Just be open and tell your psych everything, don't leave out some stuff.

I have jealousy problems... and also this "vengence" rage thing that I try to get back at people who wrong me... x10... I'm working on these things myself, with the help of my girl... but I think I might have to go to councelling to get it resolved... I always get the upset feeling in my chest... and may act differently, but then it subsides...

I don't know... just be very open, and get htings oout... it will help.

yea dont hold back, tell him/her EVERYTHING, even if u tell him u masturbate 15 times a day...dont worry they have heard it ALL...nothing you say will shock them, also tell them about the juice, many people use juice and are addicted to juice, just like any drug, it can all be an emotional thing, juice is an anti-depressant to many people, so tell him about the juice.
 
I don't know if I'll mention the juice.....not sure if it's pertenient at this time.

I just got back from my in-take session.....the lady was really cool...I think good things will come from this :)

Can I ask how this is going, VDL? I've got some family issues I've been thinking about talking to someone about, and I'm always curious.

Plus just hoping it's going well for you...

DOT - that WAS funny! You are required to make light of my
situation.....other wise what good are you? :)

My first REAL appointment is tomorrow - the first one was an intake appt to assess my level of craziness and assign me to a therapist.

I'll def. keep you posted on my progress and if I think it's worth my time

If you are juicing, I strongly recommend you tell your therapist, especially since you're reporting mood swings. I always have my clients have bloodwork before they go on any medications.

Ditto. You wanted a tip on how to get the most out of your therapy sessions:

Tell your therapist the damn truth... or don't waste your time.
