OK, somewhere we went from water to gas, but you're right. I guess I can't expect small station owners to provide free gas. I'll give you that one. Although I think it would be a cool gesture if some of the wealthier chain owners would do it.
Millions of Americans, private individuals and businesses, are donating money, food, time and whatever else in support after what happened. I would think that most good-hearted people, station owners included, would feel compelled to give something as well.
Back to the water. I guess I look at water as a basic need. Yeah, it was probably some pimply-faced kid who didn't have the authority to give out free water. But my guess is that there was some kind of supervisor involved in this who had the final say. Either way, I think there are times to do what you can for your fellow man even though it costs you a few bucks. If a medic coming into a store and asking for water for shock victims isn't one of those times, I don't know what is.
