Squatting Advice Needed

Hi All:

Question. im noticing that im breaking pararell. but not squatting as deep. when i was using lighter weights i would go down to where my butt was allmost touching the floor.

now im just breaking pararell.

Your opinion?

lighter weight all the way in the hole.?

heavier weight just breaking pararell?

i go lighter and in the hole for 15 to 20 reps. im working on bringing out seperation as the size is already there. it depends what you want. for size, go heavier and go as low as possible. just below parallel is fine.

Just make sure your not rounding your back as you go below parrallel, thats what I used to do and my lower back ached like a bee-otch the next day
 
right below parallel is perfect :coffee:
 
I always go as low as I can...CAN.

Why not do both?
 
My heavy sets I do powerlifting stance to paralell, them I lower the weight by a third some times less and do two sets ass to the ground with 2 second pause at the bottom as many reps as I can! So I do it both ways in the same workout!

all depends what you are training for, but at the very least just below parallel is fine imo. Ass to the grass if you are training for pure strength/power
 
yes. ill cut out the leg press and increse the sets on the squat.

i currently do 3 sets 8 reps leg sled after i squat.

instead ill do my warm ups. go to my heavier weight just breaking pararell. then ill lower the weight and do 3 more sets allthe way in the hole.....

I never thought of that.

Why even bother with the leg presses on the sled?

Why even bother with the leg presses on the sled?

the leg press is great for quad development and seperation. you might want to include it but use it for different stimulus. as opposed to trying to pack on as much weight as possible, concentrate on muscle contraction and time under tension.
 
Right now the most i can go ATG is probably 400-450ish. After that its parallel.
