Squats and deads=Better bench

I am no expert, but I think it is because doing those 2 exercises you are working a lot of muscle groups.

It also helps to develope your trunk area which is essential in every exercise you do.

I think this is right, but I know there are a lot better explanantions out there as to why they are so beneficial
 
sure, they are both basic strenght exercises. and when you develope a better overall strengh, ususally the individual exercises benefite from it.
