do not put a board under your feet. this just isn't a good idea.

If you can post a video, your form can be evaluated, and help to find what is going wrong here. my best guess, without seeing a video, is you are not starting your decent by pushing your glutes back. on the way down, you should move your glutes first, head last. and on the way up, its the opposite. give this a try, and see if it helps you out at all
 
Im currently box squat because of a knee problems, though i too have problem with the flexibility if i do ATF squat. I cant go deep because my lower, maybe even whole back is like a rainbow when im at thje bottom, what should i flex do get my back arching when at the bottom ? If you know maybe you guys can give me some exercise hints too ?
