Squat Bar

I notice a difference in thickness in some of the bars I use at various gyms.

I've heard people refer to the thicker bar as a "squat bar" and I notice I have more difficulty with this bar than I would with the thinner bar.

Is there a difference in the weight of each bar? Or is it just in my head?

Thank you!

most bars weight 45lbs... I have a safety squat bar that weights 65 lbs... If its an oly bar, it should weigh right around 45...

I never see oly bar sizes varying from the competition standard except for special-use bars, like those really-cool-but-way-too-expensive thick bars that are godly for working grip strength and DLing (too bad the hundreds of dollars is out of my range).

How the heck can you have difficulty with bar diameter differences when squatting? Deadlifting I can see, but...
