rnch

a genitic gift from good doner DNA, like pointy, peaked biceps, or attainable with a certain lifting program? (other than bench press, cable crossovers, dips)

comments?

advice???

Genetics for the most part.

Steve Reeves credited his "squared off" pecs to hardly ever doing barbell bench.

Hmmm. I'd say that unlike biceps, most people can develop a great looking chest.

You see planty of pro's with medocre biceps peak, but most have impressive pecs.

this is true to some extent, but as Arnold has said, hard work and exercise anyone can get 21" arms with a very good peak, maybe nut an arnold peak, but a very good one. as far as a bicep goes go with more conc. curls, variations of the conc. curl. chest, flies, dbell flies.

Sorry but you're dead wrong.

You cannot change the shape of a muscle using different exercises. You can only make it bigger or smaller. Also, bodyfat plays a HUGE role, as those with lower bodyfats will see a better peak, and a more squared off chest. So don't waste your time doing cable crossovers because you lack an inner chest.

Also, not everyone is genetically able to gain 21" arms. Yeah maybe if a good portion of it is fat, but if you're talking sub 10% bf, the majority of the population would be unable to achieve that high of a number naturally.

I'm not sure either way, but genetics and bf% make a huge difference. I'll probably never have big, squared off pecs due to genetics. I look very similar to my dad, except much wider and thicker. Once I get my bf% down low enough, I'll have some decent pecs, but never the ones always shown in the movies (like Will Smith or LLCoolJ) or any bbers. That's something I know I'll have to live with, but I'll be one big, strong mofo.

first, you'd have to drop enough body fat to see exactly what shape pecs you have. if that is the case. i try to do the same or more incline work as i do flat. i also do cable flyes in the incline and decline positions to finish things off. but, i do not do everything every workout.
