He turns on the ads for plats to get the to fucking shut up about karma already!

For those of you that hadn't given much thought to it (which I suspect is most of you)

red karma benefits the site in two ways

1) only non plats can get bombed/blacked out. When the Bomb Squad was up in full swing, plat memberships rose sharply. People went plat in order to drop bombs, and they went plat in order to avoid being bombed. So the moral of the story is, bombs are good for business.

2) The site admin have been trying to think of ways to get karma inflation in check. Well, they stopped the creation of massive amounts of new K (unless you buy it) and now they want to get K OUT of the system. The Casino does this, so does the Karma Store, and guess what else does, RED KARMA!

Just keep that in mind in light of all the bitching and moaning lately.

the same cycle has repeated itself over an over, but the one thing that stays very constant in the EF revenue stream. Its one of those "Hello, McFly!" type of things.

What Im stating Lestat is that you were one of the most vocal critics of the new karma policy. At the same time no one on this site has acted to further the activities you outlined more than you. In short you claimed to be unhappy with what GS was doing, while being a tool of the new policy as outlined by you.

Now you claim to have done so wittingly. I just have my doubts. It seems likelier my way. But feel free to offer an explanation as to why you acted in opposition to your own expressed views.

I liked accumulating massive amounts of green, that's why.

Like I said, I don't blindly defend every action of the site, there are certainly things that have changed over the years that I wish would NOT have.

A good example is the SEARCH function. Like most message boards, the search function was free for all users. A few years ago they made it so that you had to be a platinum member of the site to use it.

I hated that change, I was non plat at the time and I used the search regularly to find posts on diet, training, even AAS. I went plat because I couldn't live without that functionality.

Now, just because I wish the search would have stayed free, doesn't mean I can't understand and appreciate the reason for it to be restricted to paid members only. It makes business sense! Using the search is a valued feature and something that might compel a user to actually pony up some cash for the site. From a business perspective, I can't fault George.
